Chapter 1: Cassie
Let me ask you a question. Have you ever met a really kind girl? Well if you have, then prepare to meet another one. I'm Cassie and I'm the kindest girl in my grade. To my classmates, I'm known as "the sugar in a cupcake." That's just a way of saying that I'm a really nice person. It's what I like about myself. Not only that, but I'm really friendly. It's easy for me to make friends, even in 6th grade, which is the grade that I'm in right now. People are friendly to me too and I get along with everyone. I'm also always honest and I am quick on my feet. There's this thing that I've been hiding from almost everyone I know. It's a secret and it's magical.
Chapter 2: Fluffy.
I have a plushie that is super cute. It's a cat and her name is Fluffy. That could've been a dog's name, but I don't have a dog. Anyway, this isn't your ordinary cat plushie. It can walk, talk, and eat. Now if you're thinking it's one of those A.I. plushies, think again. It actually is alive! We've been on so many adventures together. There was this one time I accidentally got separated from my mom when I was younger and the only person/plushie who was with me was Fluffy. We went to lots of places. We even got a little dirty because I fell in a small puddle of mud. At the final place where we stopped to take a break, I was about to give up until Fluffy told me that we were sitting at my house's sidewalk. Now that was an
adventure. We even had more fun times than that one. I wouldn't trade her for anything in the world. Until that day.
Chapter 3: The Garage Sale.
It was the day my mom was planning our first garage sale. She gave away almost everything that we didn't use anymore. On that same day, I was playing Hide and Seek with my plushie Fluffy and my best friend, Daniel. It was my turn to be the seeker, so I turned away from them and started counting. About 30 seconds later, I went searching for them. The first person I found was Daniel. She offered her assistance looking for Fluffy, so I allowed her. About 20 minutes later, we couldn't find her anywhere. "Where did she go?" asked Daniel. "I don't know," I said, "but it looks like we're gonna have to make this search an extreme one. It'll be the only way to find her."
Chapter 4: Where Did I Put her?
Me and Daniel started checking the most obvious places that could be where Fluffy was at. Then, we started going to the places where she wouldn't go to hide in, but could be at, but we didn't find her at those places either. "If we ever find Fluffy, I'm telling her that she's a really good hider," said Daniel. "You really should. That way, she could start going to places that would be easier for us to find her at," I said. "You know, maybe she didn't hide at all. Maybe, you put her somewhere and forgot where she was," said Daniel. "You're probably right," I said, "but I could've sworn that she was with us when we started the game." When we continued searching for her, we walked through the garage sale that my mom had organized.
People were already there, looking at stuff like antiques, old toys, and photos of beautiful landscapes. We decided to stop and help out a little. Around that time, I saw a little girl was holding something and she was with her mom. It was a plushie, that looked like... Fluffy! "Daniel, that girl has my plushie!" Her eyes were as wide as mine. "She's got your plushie and she's buying it?" asked Daniel. "Well, let's hope that we're not too late, because we have to get that plushie and follow that girl!"
Chapter 5: After that girl!
We follow the mom and girl. It was a bit tricky, since there were quite a few obstacles along the way. Somebody was moving a rack of old clothes and was blocking our way. After the person and the rack finally moved away, we continued to follow the girl, but we accidentally bumped into someone. It was an elderly woman who was holding one of my mom's old purses. "I'm sorry that I was in your way," the old woman said, "please, you two can go first." "Oh no, you can go first," said Daniel politely. She was always nice to the elderly. So the woman went on her way and we were back to following the girl. We finally caught up to her just in time, because she was just about to buy Fluffy! "Hello there," I said in my nicest voice ever, "that's
a really nice toy that you have there, but I'm afraid that you can't buy that. Its actually one of my belongings and I had misplaced it, so can you please give it back to me?" I held back my breath, waiting for the little girl to reply. Then she finally said, "But I don't want to give it back. Besides, aren't you a little too old for toys like this?" She's got a point, but I can't let Fluffy go. She's been my little plushie friend ever since I was 3. Anyway, the little girl's mom turned her around and starts talking to her. I only heard a few words, but she must've said, "Sweetie, if that is the nice girl's possession, then give it to her." And then I heard the little girl complain. "But I don't want too!" she wailed. The mom talked to her some more, and then the little girl finally gave the plushie to me. "Ok, you can have
your plushie back," she said reluctantly. Now that I have my plushie back, I happily went on my way. When no one was near, except for Daniel, I finally talked to Fluffy. "That was close! I'm so glad that I got you back Fluffy," I said giving her a hug. But she didn't respond, though she was moving. It was like a minute or two before she finally said, "Cassie, I've been thinking.
Chapter 6: Time to Let Go.
After she explained, I was half confused and half upset. "You want to go with the girl? But I don't you too. You're my best friend." Then I heard Daniel cough. "I mean, you're one of my best friends," I said giving Daniel a smile, "but I still don't understand. Does that girl have cool things that you want to play with and that makes you want to leave me?" Fluffy shook her head rapidly. "No, no, its not that! It's just, the little girl would've enjoyed playing with me and it could make her happy. I'm not saying that I don't want to be with you anymore. In fact, I'm going to miss you. But that could happen if you let me go. Please?" I think for a moment. I did see the little girl upset when she gave me back Fluffy. Even
