This is Ramona. Ramona is obsessed with this book she has called "The Steam Shovel." Her parents and sister are very annoyed with her obsession with this book. They decide to take her to get a new one. 

Obsessed/Obsession: Can't stop thinking about something 

Annoyed: Kind of angry or mad

Ramona and Beezus  are at the library getting a new book. They pick out one that Ramona really enjoys.

Ramona loved the book so much that she decided to do something naughty. She wrote her name in the book that wasn't hers. Then it was time to take the book back to the library.  

Decided: made a choice

Naughty: Made a bad choice

Ramona got in trouble by the librarian and got fined,  but didn't have money. Beezus had to buy the book for Ramona because the librarian wouldn't accept it. Ramona did the right thing and gave Beezus the book since she paid for it. 

Fined: Have to pay for something 

Accept: To get something that was offered 

The next day, Beezus has an after school art class. She is struggling in that class. Ramona comes running into the classroom and ends up staying. 

Struggling: Having a hard time at something 

Ramona made a bad choice and took the lollipop from a boy in the class. Beezus then gets mad at Ramona and makes her go wait outside in the sandbox for the rest of class. 

Beezus then comes outside. She ended up drawing a beautiful picture of a candy dragon. She got this idea from Ramona stealing the candy.  

Beautiful: pretty

The next day, Beezus had Henry over. Henry brought his dog Risby with. Beezus and Henry were playing chess on the floor.
