Although you might have expected that we will present tennis because of Novak Djokovic, we still decided on table tennis.
Table tennis
Rules of table tennis
Service
The ball must be thrown vertically min. 16 cm high behind the table.
The server hits the ball so that it first bounces off his own half of the table and then lands on the opponent's half.
If the ball touches the net, the service is repeated.
Each player serves twice, after which the opponent receives a serve. An exception is if an extension of the set is played, e.g. at 10:10, then each player serves alternately.
Exchange of blows
Unlike the serve, the ball is hit directly into the opponent's half of the table.
Before the shot, the ball may only bounce once on the player's own half of the table.
It is not allowed, as in tennis, to volley the ball (before it bounces).
Before the ball lands on the opponent's half of the table, it may only touch the net and its holders. If the ball touches any other object, such as clothes, ceiling or wall, a point is awarded to the opponent.
The ball is correct if it hits only the top surface or edges, but not the side edges of the table.
Set
The first player to score 11 points wins the set.
When the score is 10:10, an extended set is played, with a difference of two points, e.g. 12:10, 13:11 e
After each set, change sides.
Match
As a rule, the match is played on 3 won sets. Therefore, a maximum of 5 sets can be played. In case of a tie in the sets won 2:2, the fifth decisive set is played.
