Part 1
On a sunny afternoon, a girl named Mia decided to visit her friend's home. The autumn leaves crunched beneath her feet as she walked down the quiet street. She reached her friend's house and rang the doorbell. The door swung open, and her friend, Emily, stood there with a warm smile.
"Mia! I'm so glad you came!" Emily exclaimed, ushering Mia inside. As Mia stepped in, she noticed her other friends gathered in the living room: John Aquileia, Ofelia Khane, and Usheaq Sayoko. The room was filled with laughter and the aroma of freshly baked cookies.
"What's going on?" Mia asked, curiosity piqued.
John grinned and replied, "Why, we are going to Paris!"
Mia's eyes widened in surprise. "Paris? Are you serious?"
"Absolutely! We've been planning this trip for months," Ofelia chimed in. "And now it's finally happening."
Two weeks later, they arrived in Paris. The bustling cityscape was a stark contrast to the serene suburbs Mia was used to. The Eiffel Tower loomed majestically in the distance, and the aroma of freshly baked bread wafted through the air. Despite the city's charm, Mia felt a gnawing unease.
Perhaps it was the sheer scale of the metropolis, or maybe it was the unfamiliar faces that surrounded her.
As they made their way to the hotel, Mia's apprehension grew. The hotel was a grand establishment, with chandeliers that sparkled like diamonds and marble floors that gleamed under the soft lighting. It was a sight to behold, but Mia couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss.
Upon entering the hotel lobby, John turned to Mia and said, "This place is incredible, isn't it?"
Mia forced a smile. "Yeah, it is. It's just... different from what I'm used to."
John squeezed her hand reassuringly. "Don't worry, Mia. We'll have a fantastic time. Just wait and see."
As they checked in and headed to their rooms, Mia couldn't help but glance around nervously. She couldn't pinpoint what was bothering her, but she knew one thing for certain—this was no ordinary trip.
Part 2
John felt great when Mia agreed to marry him. Overjoyed with her acceptance, he envisioned the perfect wedding in the City of Love. His friends were thrilled by the idea, agreeing that Paris would be an ideal location for a romantic wedding. The Eiffel Tower, charming streets, and timeless ambiance—all seemed perfect for such an event.
The day they arrived in Paris, John went up to the hotel desk to claim their room. The receptionist, a polite man with a thick French accent, handed him the key with a courteous, “Welcome to Paris.” With a smile, John and Mia headed to their room.
As they unpacked, John noticed that Mia seemed uneasy. Her movements were slow, and she frequently glanced out the window at the bustling city below. He assumed she was stressed from the busy city.
At dinner time, they went to the hotel restaurant, an elegant place with crystal chandeliers and soft classical music playing in the background. As they settled at their table, a waiter approached them with a peculiar look in his eyes.
“Bonjour! Wait, are you Mia Qymakla?” the waiter asked Mia with a curious tone.
Mia replied, “Yes, why?”
“Oh, I just have heard of you from a friend,” the waiter responded, smiling warmly.
John, however, didn’t buy this. His instincts told him that this man didn’t have a friend who knew Mia. He watched the waiter closely, his suspicion growing with every passing moment.
Despite the unsettling exchange, they tried to enjoy their dinner. John attempted to lighten the mood by talking about their future wedding plans. He described a beautiful outdoor ceremony with the Eiffel Tower in the background and how wonderful it would be to share such a special moment with their closest friends.
Mia smiled, but her unease was still evident.
As the night went on, John couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. The city, although beautiful, seemed to hold secrets. And that strange encounter with the waiter only added to his growing sense of unease.
In the back of his mind, John wondered if their dream wedding in Paris would come with unexpected challenges.
Part 3
Usheaq sat down next to John and was not hungry, so he did not order anything. He looked at Mia, Ofelia, and John's food, and it did not look like real food. The colors were too vibrant, almost surreal, and the textures seemed off. He wondered if it was because he was English and not used to French cuisine. Pushing the thought aside, he decided to excuse himself.
"I'm going to our room, okay?" Usheaq told Ofelia. She nodded, her eyes fixed on her plate.
As Usheaq made his way through the opulent corridors of the hotel, he stopped to admire a statue of a balance, intricately carved from stone. Oddly, it moved up and down like a scale would, despite being entirely made of stone. He shook his head, thinking it was just his imagination playing tricks on him, and continued toward their room. When he reached the door to their room, he fumbled with the keycard for a moment before finally opening it. As he stepped inside, he was greeted by an eerie stillness. The room was dimly lit, with shadows dancing on the walls. He looked around, and his eyes landed on a strange, indistinct shape in the corner.
He squinted, trying to make out what it was, but the shadows seemed to shift and blur the edges of the figure.
Unease settled over him as he approached the shape cautiously. When he got closer, he realized it was a lifelike mannequin, dressed in old-fashioned clothing, standing eerily still. A chill ran down his spine as he examined the mannequin's face—it was eerily realistic, almost as if it were a frozen person. The eyes seemed to follow him, and he quickly averted his gaze.
Usheaq took a deep breath, convincing himself it was just an art piece, albeit a very unsettling one. He decided to leave the room and head back to the restaurant to join his friends, but as he turned to leave, he felt a cold breeze brush past him, despite the windows being closed. He hurried out of the room, feeling an overwhelming sense of dread. As he made his way back to the restaurant, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was very wrong in that hotel.
Part 4
Ofelia wondered why Usheaq never came back to the dinner. She thought he might have gone to the bathroom and lost track of time. But as the minutes ticked by, her concern grew. The waiter, meanwhile, was not making things any easier. He hovered around their table, asking overly personal questions that made Ofelia uncomfortable.
"Where were you born?" he asked, his eyes fixed on her intently.
Ofelia hesitated, feeling uneasy. She didn't want to share her real birthday with this stranger. "August 28, 1981," she lied, hoping he would leave them alone.
The waiter seemed satisfied with her answer, but Ofelia could tell he was still watching them closely.
When dinner was finally done, they decided to head back to their rooms. As they walked through the dimly lit corridors of the hotel, a sense of foreboding settled over them. Ofelia couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.
They reached their room, and Ofelia opened the door, expecting to find Usheaq waiting for them. Instead, she was met with a shocking sight. Usheaq was lying on the table, unconscious. Panic surged through her as she rushed to his side.
"John, come here!" Ofelia called out, her voice trembling with fear.
John hurried over and saw the two small holes in Usheaq's neck, with blood slowly seeping out. "What happened?" he exclaimed, examining the wounds closely.
Ofelia's mind raced, trying to make sense of the situation. "I don't know... he was fine earlier," she stammered.
As they tried to revive Usheaq, a sudden shriek pierced the air.
