Once upon a time in a faraway land called the Elemental Kingdom, there were two kinds of people: the Metals and the Nonmetals.
One day, King Sodium of the Metal people decided to go on a journey. He wanted to find a partner who could help his kingdom grow.
As he walked through the forest, he met Chlorine, a member of the Nonmetal Clan. They quickly became friends and decided to work together.
When they joined, their powers combined, creating something amazing: a crystal called Sodium Chloride.
Sodium + Chlorine + ide
(metal) + (non-metal) + ide
Magnesium and Oxygen then teamed up, creating a stone called Magnesium Oxide. The kingdom grew stronger with each new alliance.
Chlorine + ide = CHLORIDE
Oxygen + ide = OXIDE
Meanwhile, in the Valley of Changes, there lived the Transition Metals. They were known for their many talents and changing skills.
One day, Iron met Chlorine. The first time they worked together, they created a crystal called Iron(II)Chloride.
