Sam was a very lazy boy who liked to laze around all day. He hated school cause it was too much effort in his mind and he'd much rather stay at home anyways. As of today, his mom brought him an apple as a snack and then left. It was currently the weekend, a Sunday, and he still hadn't gotten his homework done yet.

He was disappointed with only getting an apple but he accepted it and ate it anyway. He began to get sleepy after eating the apple, and he'd much rather take a nap than do his homework on boring pollution and stuff like that. So he did.

Sam quickly dozed off, deciding to sleep off his homework since he could just do it later. He quickly slipped into dreamland, as his cat sat on top of him, his Shadow lay below him, and the world around him slowly faded away.

Sam woke up and found himself in a white space with nothing but himself and his shadow. But for some reason, his Shadow was gone instead of following him around as always.

"Huh? Where's my Shadow?"
"I'm right here Sam, behind you."

"Err, oh, well that's odd. Why aren't you following me, Shadow?"
"Because I need you to follow me. I want to show you something Sam. For fun!" Sam's Shadow said.

"Sure, but this better be good. I have a nap to get back to. This is already boring."
Sam said back to his Shadow. He was only following along with this cause he could tell it was just a dream by now.
"But you're already asleep? Okay, that's not the point. I'll show you now." Said his Shadow as the world around them changed again, similar to when he first fell asleep.

Um, why am I my cat? And why are we at the outside of my house?
When the white space stopped changing, Sam realized that they had arrived in the middle of his town where people were passing by. It was pretty loud since school had just ended for students. Sam luckily spotted his Shadow in the crowd and asked his Shadow to wait since he saw him begin to run off, but the Shadow didn't listen to Sam's question! It was even gone from his sight by now. But then he saw his shadow up ahead again, the shadow of him... well, of his cat, running off into the dark corners of the town he never really explored.

Hey! Wait!

He followed his Shadow throughout the town until he ended up losing them, realizing that they had led him into a forest. He never went into the forest. I mean, he wasn't even allowed to leave his house by himself so why would he go in here before? Sam walked around. He was scared of the dark, he was scared of being all by himself, and he couldn't even find his Shadow anywhere.
Well, this is just GREAT...

His Shadow didn't talk and kept looking ahead. Sam walked over, he was angry.
There you are! I've been looking for you everywhere, that's annoying. You can't just go running off like that. You're supposed to follow me around, not yourself!

You caught up.
EW! It smells horrible.
I WANT TO LEAVE. This place reeks, And there's some weird beaver here too.

But you can't, silly.

You live here.

What? But my home doesn't look like this. Not at all, you stinky!

Yes it does, and it will. You just haven't looked close enough.
I think it's a spy beaver. Anyways, that's not the point.

Why is there still a beaver here?
