Josh is a little boy who lives in an urban area in the country of AwesomeLand.

He lived in a house with his mom and dad and thought he couldn't be happier. 

It is HOT!!!

One day, Josh was playing soccer outside, and realized he was getting very sweaty.

He was a little confused - he had just checked the temperature not long ago and decided it wasn't too hot.

He decided to ask the local scientist what was happening.

Josh, you are experiencing the Heat Island Effect. That means that the buildings we have in the city absorb and release the heat from the sun more than things like forests do. That's why you're hotter!

That's not the only thing our city causes... Josh, come with me. I have to show you something.

The scientist led Josh outside the building. Next, she led him to the outskirts of the city itself. The whole time, she had a sad look on her face.

In the distance, Josh saw a terrible, hulking dinosaur - and it was getting closer.

That creature is the photochemical smog monster. It is attracted to our city because of all of the gases (nitrogen oxides) we emit. The light from the sun reacts with those gases and makes them toxic for humans. 

The photochemical smog monster loves to eat those dangerous chemicals, so it is attracted to our town. Sadly, it can get confused and sometimes hurt the townspeople.

Josh thought to himself, "I wish there was a way to blow the smog out of the city so the monster could eat outside." 

Suddenly, he had an idea.

GUYS!!! WE HAVE TO BLOW AS HARD WE CAN TO GET ALL OF THE SMOG OUT OF OUR CITY!!!

Josh ran quickly so he could assemble all of the town.

Everybody came out of their houses and started walking towards the hills to help the town. Now, Josh could notice the smog hanging over the city.
