Hello! My name is Shelley! Let’s take a look into my life and how I look!

Take a good long look at me. What do you see? I am spiral shaped, like a unicorn horn! I have rough ridges. My color is brown/tan and I am what you would call a univalve! A univalve is a type of shell that is a single shell and can be shaped as a cone or spiral like me! Did you know that I am home to, what scientists call, a mollusk?

Let’s take a better look at me. In order to talk about my observations we must communicate them thoroughly!

So, we have already declared that I am a univalve. That means I am a single shaped shell. This explains why I am spiral shaped!

Let’s take a closer look at what makes me unique by comparing me to some of my friends.

This is my friend Shellington. We have a few things in common. One thing is we are both shells! Another is our color, we are both brown/tan. But Shellington is a bivalve. That means he is one of 2 shells.

Now that we know how I look and what I am lets take a look at how I can be measured. We use the metric system to measure me!

I am 8 centimeters long. I weigh about 5 grams. I can also hold up to 2 milliliters of water!
