My Story
During my Twitter scrolling I discovered that the #MeToo hashtag was currently popular in the platform. When I began reading the sexual harassment stories on Twitter my understanding was unclear but I soon became both tremendously stirred and startled. People used this hashtag to speak about an issue that had previously been quashed. The strength of people motivated me to reveal my personal journey. My public storytelling sparked an overwhelming response through messages which came from both my friends and acquaintances and people I did not know. The burden lifted away from me while I discovered others in my situation for the first time. At that particular instance we found ourselves in the midst of a momentous occasion. Under the #MeToo movement I felt alone about my experience because I thought raising my voice would be both useless and disgraceful.

The hashtag reshaped my viewpoint by allowing me to accept my voice together with my personal story. Their support showed me how collective force brings empowerment while proving that my upsetting story became part of an extensive social dialogue.
The political movement #MeToo exists beyond social media trends because it created comprehensive changes in societal responses regarding sexual harassment along with assault. Using social media properly enabled the amplification of voices which had gone unnoticed previously. The event served to initiate workforce policy modifications as it started essential dialogues about power relationships and consent within multiple industries.

The #MeToo movement shows its importance to me by providing more than exposure to awareness issues because it brings the power to speak independently and work collectively for justice. The transformation by this technology combined with this hashtag produced both personal life changes and inspired my involvement with other empowerment initiatives which aim to create meaningful social transformation.
When I surfed Twitter as usual I discovered the #MeToo hashtag before realizing its meaning. The trending #MeToo caught my attention without being clear about its meaning so I thought it was another passing social media trend. The stories attached to the hashtag captured my full attention once I began to read through them. People of both sexes utilized the #MeToo platform to reveal their intimate stories about sexual violence encounters which sometimes brought them intense suffering. Reading these stories gave me a heavy realization about the enormity of the issue because many of them resembled my situations and revealed the extensive duration of silence that had shrouded this problem. I was struck by the bravery of people who were emerging from silence because their voices created a powerful impact within me.

Numerous people worldwide joined the #MeToo campaign in 2017 after Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein exposed himself as a serial abuser. The movement paved the way for people throughout the world to talk about sexual abuse and assault and gender-based inequality while pressure organizations to take accountability.
Comparison to Other Hashtags: The #MeToo movement that started in 2017 reflected the same pattern as #BlackLivesMatter in 2016 by broadening from single incidents into broader social movements. The two hashtags #MeToo and BLM had distinct cultural significance because #MeToo elevated worldwide gender equality discourse and BLM exposed racial discrimination.

The revolutionary aspect of #MeToo involved enabling victims to share their stories securely while shielding them from punishment. The movement provided people with both an instrument of voice as well as the ability to rewrite their life stories. For a prolonged period people were unable to speak yet now their voices suddenly emerged. Social media only served as one platform for this revolution to take place. The force generated through these digital accounts resulted in tangible effects across the real world. Different sectors of industry and professional institutions started paying attention to the movement. The workplace introduced policy changes followed by new accountability discussions that had previously ignored such vital subjects.

The impact off hashtags on political movements
The #MeToo movement which Tarana Burke launched in 2006 supported sexual assault survivors as she appeared on every red carpet and magazine cover during the year since the #MeToo hashtag became popular in late 2017. These odd circumstances were unlike her regular routines so she regularly found herself feeling totally displaced. At that point she obtained her initial substantial opportunity to organize. Advocacy groups calling for gender-based justice fought to protest the conservative Trump nominee who faced accusations of sexual assault as survivors and their allies showed up to voice their protests. She observed her movement generate its largest street protest up until then.

One year ago Boko Haram militants took 276 abducted school girls from Chibok which stands in the northern Nigerian region. This incident together with the January attack on Baga Town managed to provoke outrage among Nigerians as well as bring limited global public sympathy. The social media audience from all around the world united behind the #bringbackourgirls campaign as Nigerians marched towards Abuja in pursuit of government action. The hashtag #bringbackourgirls achieved 1 million uses in its first three weeks of existence as Michelle Obama as well as Cara Delevingne contributed selfies to this progressively loud social media wave.

During October 2017 Milano strengthened the #MeToo movement through her support for the movement that had begun with activist Tarana Burke's original coinage in 2006. After the Harvey Weinstein sexual misconduct revelations became public Milano asked people who experienced either sexual assault or harassment to use the #MeToo hashtag.
When Milano posted her October 15, 2017 tweet it spread around the world and triggered millions of women and other people to reveal their experiences of sexual harassment and assault. Through this hashtag millions of people worldwide started a worldwide dialogue about sexual abuse prevalence and held it up against the necessity for better accountability and change standards.
