Once there was a young woman named Persephone,
the daughter of Zeus. Zeus's brother Hades was
looking for a wife and fell in love with Persephone.
Hades took her to the underworld wanting to make
her his wife.

Hades gave
Persephone some
pomegranate
seeds while down
in the Underworld
,this meant that
Persephone had
to go back.

When Persephone was gone
from home though, her
mother(Demeter) made sure
that no plants grew. This
meant that the people didn't
have food. Therefore Zeus
thought that Persephone
should come home. Zeus
decided that Persephone
would be in the underworld
for 1/3 of the year and 2/3s
of the year above. There was
one condition- she could not
have had anything to eat or
drink while she was in the
Underworld.

permanently.

his three-headed
dog in the
shadows, Zeus
wouldn't know until
it was too late.

Their fight rang throughout the whole
underworld. Then, there was a flash of light.
Hades had used his two-pronged fork to knock
the bolt right out of Zeus's hand.

Then Hades whistled... Before Zeus could
react, Cerberus came out of the shadows and
leaped onto Zeus
