“And the winners are…” Ms. Ava announced. Everyone waited anxiously as Ms. Ava opened the winner’s envelope. 

They were as quiet as mice; you could even hear a pin drop.

Magical school

Pickles

Pickles went to her new school one day, she had no friends. The next day, Pickles saw a girl named Poki, and she seemed very fun and friendly. Pickles wanted to be friends with her.

Pickles was on her way to school, thinking about what might happen. What if I can’t make any friends? What if no one likes me? Soon, she arrived at school. The hallways were crowded with people, just like at a concert for a celebrity. Poki was the most popular person in school. When Pickles noticed that she was approaching her, her jaw dropped. Poki smiled and said, “Hi, do you want to be friends with me?"

Today, Poki and Pickles met each other and went to the school zoo together. They were already getting closer! After a while, Poki asked Pickles if she wanted to open a dream shop together. On the outside, Pickles looked calm and said, “Sure,” but on the inside, she was so happy she pinched herself just to make sure she wasn’t dreaming. Then, Poki promised Pickles that she would prepare EVERYTHING for the shop, but… she was still a little confused about how there would be magic, because it was a dream shop. 

So Pickles asked, “But there is no magic on EARTH! How will we do it?” “You still don’t know?” Poki asked. “This school is filled with magic! It’s a magical school!” Pickles’ eyes became as big as saucers as she still couldn’t believe what Poki had just said.

OMG!

“This is so boring!” Poki thought in English class. She and Pickles were passing notes. “Haha!” Poki laughed out loud. The teacher, Mr. Elijah, heard her and saw the note. “What’s this?” he said, grabbing it from her hand. He read it out loud, “Mr. Elijah sounds like a pig when he talks.” The whole class giggled.

“HOW DARE YOU!” he shouted. “Go to the Magic Office now!”

They walked slowly, dragging their feet. What will happen? Pickles thought. At the office, they told Ms. Ava what happened. But Ms. Ava didn’t get mad. She smiled and said, “I think Mr. Elijah does sound like a pig when he talks!”

They all laughed so hard.

Mr. Know-it-all

Today was the day that Poki and Pickles were preparing for the competition and getting their shop ready. After school, they met up and started setting up the shop, mixing ingredients to make some dream potions.

 Pickles tried the flying potion and started floating. “I can’t believe this!” Pickles said. “This is so cool!”“Now put your hands up!” Pickles went up. “Put your hands down.” Pickles floated down.“We are going to win this for sure!” Pickles said.

They kept preparing and mixing up potions like “Popular,” “Good scores,” “Pop star,” “Knowing every language,” “Smart,” and “Neat words”… They were so excited for the competition day.“I can’t wait!” they said together and did their secret handshake.
