Once upon a time, it was St. Patrick's Day. Everybody was so excited to go to school. Emily and Ashley were best friends. At recess they were pretending to be detectives. "Maybe we can look for clues about the rainbow and gold," Ashley said to Emily. "Sure!" cried Emily. They searched and searched. Finally they found something.

''I see gold coins behind that tree!" Ashley said hesitantly. They went behind the tree to get them but there was one problem. "Where should we put them?" Emily asked. "Well, I do have pockets," Ashley said. There was a whistle sound. They rushed back to class and Ashley put the coins in her bag. During school nothing interesting really happened. After school Emily and Ashley's parents already planned for them to have a play date at Ashley's house.

On the play date they went on a walk to their favorite playground to discuss about where they can find gold. In a few seconds it started to rain. "Oh no! It's raining!" Emily said. Everyone ran to Ashley's front yard. The kids loved the rain so they didn't go inside. Very soon
they got tired
so they went inside.

It soon was dinner time. While Ashley's mom was making dinner, Ashley and Emily were watching television on Ashley's iPad. "Dinner's ready!" called Ashley's mom. For dinner they had macaroni and cheese. "Hmmm, this is so good," said Emily eating her macaroni and cheese faster than both Ashley and Ashley's mom.
When they were eating their macaroni and cheese the rain was starting to stop. "Look, the rain is starting to stop! Maybe my mom will let us go outside to play for a little bit!" Ashley said excitedly. When they were done eating their food they went outside to play.

"Look, there's a rainbow in the sky! That's because it was raining. Maybe we can find the treasure and present it to the class," Emily said. They ran to find the end of the rainbow. They both noticed that the rainbow ended in the sky. "Let's look in our backyard. Maybe we can find some treasure," Ashley said. They skipped to the yard. "I think I see something. It looks shiny, we should get a better look of it," Emily said surprisingly. They ran over to the shiny thing. "Look, there's the gold coins!" Emily and Ashley said together. They ran over to the coins. They were laughing so hard when they were running to Ashley's bedroom to observe the coins.
Exactly when they were running up to Ashley's room her mom stopped them. "Emily's dad is coming in ten minutes to pick you up," said Ashley's mom. "Mom, there was a rainbow in the sky because it was raining and me and Emily found gold coins and we might present them to our class," Ashley said excitedly. "And it will be so interesting!" Emily added on. When they were closely looking at their coins, her dad arrived. Emily and Ashley ran downstairs to tell them what they did.

The next day Emily and Ashley came walking in with their presentation to share. "We have something to present to the class, Ms. Cargo," Emily announced. "Oh, well sure, you can come up to the class and start preparing," said Ms. Cargo. They went up to the chalk board. "Class, Emily and Ashley have something to present to the class!" the teacher said. The teacher nodded to us. That meant 'go ahead'. Ashley was talking the whole time while Emily showed off the coins to the class. At lunch their friends Alice and Lily told Ashley and Emily that they could be famous and rich if that was real gold!
After school Emily and Ashley asked their parents if they can have a sleepover at Emily's house that night. "Sure," they agreed. Emily's mom and dad walked them home. When they arrived to Emily's house they planned making a newspaper about their wild adventure on St. Patrick's Day. They wrote:
Reporters: Emily Maple and Ashley Rose Date: 18th March, 2025
We wanted to be hunters on St. Patrick's Day. It was hard but interesting. Finally, Ashley found something: it was gold! We brought it to school for a presentation and everyone loved it!
We wrote this newspaper so all of you can understand about the magic on St. Patrick's Day. We will write about newspapers soon!

Soon it was dinner time for Emily
and Ashley. It was pizza day.
