It was a bright and sunny day in Kitlandia. The Ninja Kitties had invited Steve, Joe, Blue, and their friends to a summer party at the beach! Everyone was eager to go. As they packed their things, Steve paused and rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"Wait, I feel like we're forgetting something..." he said.
Joe waved him off. "Nope! We've got the beach towels, the picnic basket, and even Blue's favorite ball! Let's go!"
So off they went, leaving behind one friend—Mailbox.
Meanwhile, Mailbox was fast asleep at the foot of the pathway in front of the Blue’s Clues house. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves, stirring him awake.
"Ah, what a lovely day! Perfect for delivering mail!" Mailbox stretched his extendo arm. "Oh, look! A letter for Steve!"
Excitedly, he extended his arm toward the house—but Steve was nowhere to be found.
"Steve? Joe? Blue? Hello?" Mailbox looked around. "Huh... where is everyone?"
Mailbox was all alone.
Not one to be discouraged, Mailbox decided to keep himself entertained. He played catch by bouncing a ball against a tree, chuckling to himself every time it bounced back into his slot. Then, he tried telling jokes to himself.
"Why did the letter break up with the envelope?" he asked himself. "Because it needed more space! Ha! Oh, I crack myself up."
But as the hours passed, Mailbox began to feel lonely.
Just then, something fluttered to the ground—it was a summer party poster! Mailbox read it carefully.
"That must be where my friends are!" he exclaimed. "I’m going to the beach!"
Mailbox extended his arm. But as he went from tree to tree, disaster struck—his extendo arm got stuck in the branches!
"Oh no! I’m stuck! Help!" Mailbox cried out.
Luckily, Pepper the woodpecker, who had been watching nearby, saw everything. Determined to help, Pepper flapped his wings and soared toward the beach.
At the summer party, the Ninja Kitties were having a blast. Blue played in the sand with Shovel and Pail, Tickety Tock counted seashells, and Slippery Soap attempted to surf (but mostly slipped off his board with a loud, "Whoa!").
Steve, however, still had that nagging feeling.
"Are we sure we’re not forgetting something?" he asked once more.
Joe, sipping a coconut drink, shrugged. "Nothing at all."
