I was born in the 70s and am an 80s kid for sure. I grew up in suburban Northern Kentucky just south across the river from Cincinnati, OH in a little town called Erlanger.

I had a pretty stable childhood growing up with my parents and brother. And many, many pets. I was pretty shy and didn't have a ton of friends growing up.

Both my parents were Vietnam Vets and were older. We had a lot of vacation time in which we spent camping in parts of Canada and the American West. Mostly avoiding other humans.
These trips were really awesome, and I have seen so much more of America and Americana than most people have. We had a camper, but sometimes we just took the VW microbus. Due to our travels, I became a big reader.

Inspired by the prarie and the West, I read a lot of Little House on the Prarie. And lots of books about American history.

My heritage is like many people in Kentucky: people of Scots-Irish decent who spent many generations in the hills of Kentucky. My family only came to Erlanger in the 1930s when my grandpa was tasked at bringing the moonshine operation closer to the railroads.
