The young elephant named Nora went shopping with her best friend Gigi the giraffe. Nora touched a lot of surfaces and clothes when she was shopping, but forgot to wash her hands after!

The next day, Nora's stomach started hurting, but she just thought it was because she had too many sweets. But then, she started sneezing all over! So she called for her mom to help her figure out what was wrong.

Nora's mom knew something was wrong, so she took her to Dr. Danny. Dr. Danny did an exam on Nora and told her she had norovirus! He explained that norovirus can be caught by touching infected surfaces, and the virus is what makes her stomach hurt because it takes about a day or two for symptoms to show.

Dr. Danny continues to explain to Nora what norovirus is. He begins by saying norovirus is a very contagious type of virus, which is a little germ that needs to be inside a living creature to grow. A virus can make Nora's throat and head hurt, and can even make her feel super tired. But this is because her body is fighting the virus!

Dr. Danny tells Nora about her body tries to fight off the virus from the start with her innate immunity system, which is her body's natural defensive army. He explains three important armies, the skin, swelling, and a fever.
Her army of skin is a tight group of millions of soldiers because it is the strong outer layer that physically prevents invaders from entering. Another army is called the inflammatory army, which means that they help by targeting the specific area harmed for more armies to come help.
The last army that you can visibly see on the outside is the fever army. This army increases the temperature of your body, which can be harmful to the invaders, making it hard for them to survive.
Dr. Danny starts to describe what he means when he says her body is fighting off the virus. He explains that Nora has an army inside her body that protects her from the invaders, like norovirus.
Dr. Danny explains that Nora's army starts fighting the virus using hungry creatures we call Macrophages. These hungry creatures eat as much of the invading virus as they can until their stomach explodes when they get too full!
