One day, Tyler's mom took him and his sister Skylar to Tanzania for Tyler's 11th birthday. Tyler always wished of going to Africa, especially Tanzania because he studied it ever since he was in 2nd grade. He was super nervous because there was an earthquake in Tanzania yesterday.

Tyler's mom went to park the car, but while she was parking the car another tremendous earthquake happened right in the dry desert during the day. The sounds of the earthquake were so loud it felt like a loudspeaker was right next to a humongous microphone. Tyler and Skylar felt like they were going to die and ran to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro and they were running around. Then the shaking in the Earth's crust stooped and they were stuck on top of Mt Kilimanjaro because a ton of rocks fell down and blocked them from escaping.

They have backpacks of food and water but very limited so they have to use what they have wisely. At first they were freaked out, but a couple minutes later they calmed down. Skylar was hugging Tyler tightly because she was worrying about her mother and questioning if they had enough to survive.

First, they tried to break some branches with their bare hands but they only got a couple. They did have enough to make a small shelter for both of them. They used some vines to glue the branches to the ground, but then Tyler realized that they will have to upgrade their shelter or they won't survive. Couple hours later and then they went to bed. In the morning they ate leaves for breakfast and they just relaxed for five minutes, but then a thunderstorm happened. POW! Lightning struck a tree. The rain poured on their heads like a 16 Lb bucket was poured on top of them. But the worst thing happened, lightning struck their shelter.

Tyler knew that they had to make a better shelter. Skylar was terrified and Tyler tried to calm her down. After a little bit the thunderstorm stopped. Tyler learned that they will face tough consequences throughout their adventure.
Tyler and Skylar both tried building a shelter but it fell down. They both spend the entire day trying to fix the shelter. Finally they finished building their shelter and they got to bed. When Tyler woke up he realized that his sister was not next to him but gone. Tyler looked everywhere for Skylar but she was nowhere to be found. He started to get worried, he looked by the boulders, he looked by shelter, and he even looked down in the city (which looked beautiful) but nothing.
