Exposition
A month ago, a group of boys crashed into this unknown island. They remained calm and elected one of the older boys, Ralph, as their temporary leader. Ralph was ruling them greatly, and everyone was actually enjoying this interesting experience.

Conflict
Everything was great until one of the boys named Jack stood out and said Ralph doesn't care about the boys because he's not listening to the boys' advice. This Jack guy was Ralph's closest friend and worked as a hunter to hunt meat for the boys. Ralph was angered by what Jack said and said that Jack is just an extremely violent guy who dreams of becoming a hunter but never is, as he never did a successful hunt, and the fact that he could not do a single hunt just shows how useless Jack is.

Conflict
Jack was speechless, but he then walked away from the boys and yelled out that whoever came with him would be rewarded with meat. Soon almost all the boys left Ralph to join Jack. Ralph wanted to get all the boys back because he doesn't want to suffer from losing them, but one of the smaller boys named Simon stopped him. Simon pointed out that the boys were really disappointed in Ralph's leadership and the only way to get the boys back was if Ralph could fix his problem.

Rising Action
Ralph then asks Simon what his problem was, Simon did not tell him directly but instead told him the idea of suffering in Buddhism. Suffering is not a sign of the end of the world. It does not convey an unavoidable fate. However, it makes us conscious of the reality that we are unaware of who we truly are and guide us to the solution of the suffering (Littlefair).

Rising Action
Ralph listened to the idea and decided he needs to suffer the loss of friends in order for him to recognize who he really is and what his mistake was. After being alone and feeling sad for a whole day, Ralph realized that if he kept ruling everyone like he is right now he would eventually lose all the boys, so he came up with a new plan to rule.

Rising Action
While Ralph was suffering from the loss of friends, the boys who followed Jack were also suffering from the loss of shelters that Ralph built. And the meat that Jack promised was nowhere in sight, dissatisfied with the situation many boys left Jack and went back to Ralph after hearing from Simon that Ralph has changed a lot just to bring them back.

Rising Action
Simon wasn't lying, after the boys came back, they saw Ralph held a meeting among the rest of the boys, and during the meeting Ralph asked the boys to give suggestions to their situation right now, unlike before, he actually taken considerations into these suggestions and changed the tasks of every boy. The boys saw Ralph's change but were afraid that he would not forgive them, Simon still encouraged them to apologize to Ralph.

Rising Action
At first Ralph was unwilling to forgive these traitors, he felt like these traitors could easily betray him again if he did something wrong, but Simon know the real reason is because Ralph cannot forgive his mistake of mistreating the boys and he doesn't want to harm the boys even more, so Simon insists on Ralph to forgive them and tells him the idea of forgiving others in Christianity. Please pardon our debts, just as we have pardoned our debtors. Forgiveness is a two-way street, we are forgiven as we forgive (Smit).

Rising Action
Ralph was inspired by the idea and realized that forgiving them is also forgiving his own mistakes he made in the past, so he decided to forgive those who left him, after a while, all of the boys who left him came back except for Jack. Jack could not face the fact that Ralph is a better leader, so he refuses to come back. Although Ralph was sad that Jack didn't come back, he still managed to rule the boys well. However, some of the boys who were assigned as fire watchers and fruit pickers start to grow unsettled. They think their position is bad compared to others.

Rising Action
Ralph also thinks that the boys have a point, some jobs are more tiring than others, so he looked at Simon for ideas. Simon teaches Ralph the idea of harmony society in Confucianism. If everyone performs their role the best they can, Confucianism suggests, society will be stable and peaceful (Berling).

Rising Action
Ralph understood the idea and shared the idea of Confucianism with all the boys, telling them that all their jobs are important to a successful society, with his excellent speaking skill the boys started to feel proud for their job, and they worked together to form a peaceful society where everyone is happy.

Climax
On a stormy day, Jack saw the peaceful time the boys are having and felt that he was not needed by them anymore, so he decided to sail alone and escape the island. Ralph heard this news from the boys, but he didn't believe that Jack is actually going to do it because there's a storm outside.

Climax
He went for a walk and was thinking about his relationship with Jack, then he saw that Jack was actually dragging a little boat into the sea. He realized that Jack is actually doing it, so he ran to Jack and fought him for the control of the boat, Jack was surprised to see him here, but he insists on sailing out into the sea.

Climax
Ralph just couldn't understand why Jack is always against him, then he thinks back to the idea of Buddhism, to suffer in order to find the solution. So instead of thinking that he's not suffering from Jack, Ralph thinks deeply into his relationship with Jack and actually admit that he is suffering from losing a friend like him, and suddenly he realizes that the solution to the conflict between them is for him to apologize to Jack for calling him useless.

Climax
And so, Ralph apologizes to Jack. Jack was surprised by the apology and asked Ralph why? Ralph then said how much he missed Jack because he meant a lot to him.
