Now she sits 

like a gazelle in paralysis

while her mind twists 

in torturous analysis

Thoughts sting. 

Seep in like sepsis 

sinking into skin.

non citizens who

yet are invasive species

She tries her best

of the names

of all her beautiful 

daughters and sons 

whom she's laid to rest

whom she once minded, 

loved and treasured 

almost as much

as her God above

But her sanitized mind 

has erased without a trace

Usurped minds have trouble mining for treasure. 

For Mines and Minds 

Shattered, Resurfaced, Re Placed 

with barren fields and blank spaces,

are arid minefields of Life and land - laid waste.
