Its going down!! everyone hang on. 

Jack was a little boy going on a trip with his family. They were all on an airplane, flying high in the sky. The plane was full of families. At first, Jack was happy. But after many hours, he started to feel bored and grumpy. He didn’t like sitting still for so long. Soon, he got really upset and began to yell. He was having a big tantrum.

Are we the only survivors?

I didn't see anyone else on the plane alive

When Jack woke up, everything was different.  The grown-ups did not survive. Only the boys survived the plane crash. The boys didn’t know what to do. They were scared and started to argue causing a fight. Jack got really mad and hit another boy in the face. The other boys were shocked. Then one boy named Ralph stepped forward and tried to help. He told the boys they should all work together.

                 Conflict

I hate those kids, I don't want to be near them 

Jack didn’t like that. He didn’t want Ralph to be the leader. He was still very angry. So Jack ran into the forest not so far by himself. He sat alone and thought about everything. His heart was still full of fire, but he wanted it to calm down.

Hey, I found some apples over here 

I found berries over here

After a while, Jack slowly walked back from the forest. When he got closer, he saw the other boys all busy working together. Some boys were building little houses from sticks and leaves to keep them safe in a safe area. Others were looking for food like fruits and small berries. The boys were helping each other and talking quietly. Jack stood there and watched them for a little while. He felt a little bit curious but wasn’t sure if he wanted to join yet.

Buddhism taught me to be kind for all human beings and you can use that too instead of acting out of violence. 

Ralph saw Jack and walked over. He asked Jack to sit down. Jack didn’t say anything, but he sat on a big log. Ralph told Jack about his religion called Buddhism. Ralph said it helps people be calm and kind. It teaches people not to hurt others, even when they are mad (Tucci). Ralph said being calm helps make better choices and feel happy inside.

                 Rising action 

I feel sorry for them. I wish I didn't cause trouble and feel so angry all the time. 

Jack started to think about the boy he had hit during the fight. He felt a little sad inside, like a heavy rock in his chest. He remembered the look on the boy’s face and how scared everyone had been. Jack didn’t want to be mean anymore. He wished he could take it back and do things differently.

In my religion Christianity, I was taught to forgive people and say sorry when doing wrong decisions. 

You guys would never forgive me for all the trouble I have caused. 

Then another boy named Simon quietly came over. He had been sitting nearby and listening to what Jack and Ralph were saying. Simon told them that he believed in something called Christianity. He explained that in his belief, it is very important to say sorry when you hurt someone and to forgive others (Christianity). Everyone makes mistakes sometimes, but it is okay to try again and be better next time, not repeating the same wrong decision (Fairchild).
