Splish! Splash! The 2050 olympic swimmer swam
across the lake with his Floatie. That swimmer, was my
little brother Thomas. You know, like Thomas Edison,
who invented the lightbulb? My parents are science
maniacs. That is why my name is Isaac. Like, Isaac
Newton? The guy who made the three laws of motion,
and noticed gravity? What? You don’t know what gravity
is? Gravity is the force of attraction between two
objects! Anyway, the only difference between the names
is the last name.Which mine is “Metric”, as in the unit of
measurement for science. I know, again sciency. But
anyway, I am 12 years old, and my brother is four. We
are both very skinny, and tall for our age. For example,
I am 5 foot 9, and

Thomas is 3 foot 7! Thomas loves to swim! Even
though I don’t want to, I have to take him outside
every day so that he can swim. That is what I am
doing right now, watching Thomas while playing
games, such as Temple Run 4D, on my Rolex
Smartwatch. Beep! Beep! A hologram popped out of
my smartwatch telling me that it was time for thomas
to get out of the water. I got out of the transformer
chair that I was sitting in, and floated over to Thomas
with my hover shoes. But, when I reached over to
get him out.......

KERPLUNK! Thomas sank under the water!
“OH NO!” I screamed as I saw bubbles coming up from the water. Even
though I didn’t want to, I floated up into the air with my hover shoes, and
plunged into the water. I cringed as the cold water splashed my face.
As I was Underwater, I opened my eyes. It was dark underwater, so I
used the flashlight app on my smartwatch. I turned it on and looked around.
He wasn’t there. Before I continued searching, I thought about what made
him sink even though he had a floatie on. Remembering what my dad said,
I thought about buoyancy, which is the ability to float in water or any other
liquid. Maybe somehow in this lake, there is no buoyancy. I thought. No,
Thomas has swam in this lake for months, even years. Why would there be
no buoyancy now? Suddenly, my lungs felt like they were about to burst. I
needed air. I used the force push to get back up to the surface. When I got
on land, I floated into the house and grabbed my dad’s electric scuba diving
kit.

When I went back outside, there was an old lady standing there.
CHAPTER 3
I shrieked! Who is that? I thought to myself.
“Your brother is in an underwater cabin.” The old lady said in an
eerie voice. “To get him out, you will need to give me the key”.
“ What… Where… Who…?” I stuttered.
“ Find the key to the lake, and you will get your brother back”.
And with that, she was gone. As confused as I was, I started trying
to find what she was talking about.
First, I put on my scuba diving kit, jumped in the water, and
started looking around on the seafloor of the lake. It was still dark,
so I tried to use the flashlight app on my smartwatch. But
unfortunately, it was dead because I was playing games earlier. So,
I started trying to feel for it. The seafloor felt soft on my fingers.
But, I couldn’t find it.
Next, I got out of the water and looked in the shrubs around the
lake.
