I open my blurry eyes to see I'm on a
marvelous island with only hundreds of
miles of sea on any side. I look behind
me to only trees the size of
skyscrapers from the beach I was
standing on. It took me a minute to
realize I was alone. No one is close
to me from the looks of it. I'm just
glad that I read that survivor book at
my library, that I might not even ever
see again. I try not to think about that
and start to the enormous trees in
front of me.

I'm by the trees and find a
sharp rock and start hitting the tree
with it. Some of the bark comes of,
just enough for a fire. I find what I
need and start rubbing together my
things to make a fire. I have sticks
and I see a spark. Faster I rub and I
finally have a fire howling right in
front of me. Soon I see the sun go
down and I gather immense leaves. I
get some sticks and pock them through
the leaves to make a cover. That will
do for tonight and I drift of to
sleep.

I can only see trees from now on.
When I look around I see fruits on tree
and I use my tight muscles to force
me up to get it. It's been minutes to
minutes, hour to hour, day to day,
week to week. I hardly can have my
clothes be attached to my body. The sun
beats down on me and causes me to get
to my knees. I don't know how much
longer I can wait until I hear
something above. I run through the
thick trees until I reach the beach. I
look at myself. Bruises on my legs,
cuts on my arms, but I don't care.

I look out. Could that be out there a
boat. With no doubt it is. I scream on
the top of my lungs not caring if I
won't be able to talk again. The boat
comes up and I see my mom waving.
She hops off the boat and runs over to
me. Her long black hair over my
shoulders and her bright blue eyes
looking into mine, I knew even
without my moms tears she is proud
of me. Soon men come down and help
me aboard the ship. My mom tells me
that I've been gone about three weeks.
