Amethyst Saddle was a poor, trustworthy and heart-warming girl who couldn't stand arguments. She had a poor but noble family in a land called Crystal Island. The island was surrounded by a calm, slow ocean with breathtaking views, but a very small number of people lived there, and everyone had a kind heart. 

One foggy cold morning, Amethyst was helping her father, Arnold, deliver yummy steamy hot cross buns, when she saw her friend Sarah waving at her as fast as a butterfly's wings, which was weird because she was as quiet as a mouse. So instead of helping her father, she ran as quickly as she could to her friend. 

When she arrived, she saw that her friend was crying so she asked her, ''What happened Sarah?'' Sarah answered, ''[sobbing softly in her hand] My parents disappeared while I was sleeping'', Amethyst said,''Oh, wow, that's really weird why don't you come along with me to my parents.'' So both girls went to Amethyst's dad's sturdy old carriage.

When they arrived, Amethyst's dad had disappeared. After that coincidence, Amethyst thought, 'What is happening'? Then Amethyst decided to go to their cottage. They walked until they reached Amethyst's cottage. But, apparently her mum [Ammy], sister [Amber] and brother [Asvin] had disappeared. Amethyst got unhinged.

That black dim midnight Amethyst got out of bed, wore her hiking suit and boots, and ran out to Sarah 's house. She took Sarah out of her bed and told her to change into her hiking suit. Soon, both girls were on top of Crystal Island's gargantuan and indestructible ship. They both took two sacks of fresh food each, as well as extra clothes, torches, blankets, and, of course, lots of water.

As they took off into the gloomy night, Sarah mumbled under her breath, ''Bye, home sweet home'' and fell asleep. The next morning was nice and clear with sunshine as bright as the biggest shell light in Crystal Island. Amethyst woke up with a screech! She had the worst eerie nightmare, but she got through it quickly because Sarah was screaming at her, ''look at that archaic lady!''

Hearing Sarah Amethyst rushed over against her and saw the lady wearing a dark black coat and a really polished, squeaky clean wand that must've weighed a tonne, in her old weary hands that she was moving meteorically. As they got closer, the sky became darker.

Suddenly, Amethyst wondered what could that thing b_ when the brisk wind brushed her hair and tickled her, and that 's when Amethyst got a idea and said, "that's it". Sarah was really confused and asked her, "what's it"? Amethyst thought oh Sarah and answered, "we could slink up on the old lady and find out what it is!"

Sarah bellowed, ''How will that help us''? Amethyst answered in a deep low voice, "you'll see". They left. When they arrived, they had a snack. As they were about to leave the boat, Sarah's left knee started to shiver with fear. So, Amethyst gestured her to guard the ship and she went down to the cave and craned the cave very slowly and firmly. As she did it, the cave blinked slowly, so she kept her distance, but still went to discover this treacherous cave.
