Once upon a time, in a faraway place, there was the Land of Little Letters, a colorful village where five special friends lived: A-O-M-L-F
Giant L was tall, thin, and straight as a lantern. She loved to look at the stars, and to do so, she stretched herself so much that her tongue touched the roof of her mouth: "Llll... Llll...".
Mountain M had a sweet tooth! Every time she passed a blueberry bush, she closed her eyes and said, "Mmmm... so delicious!"

One day, the five little letters decided to play a game: hugging sounds.
• The M hugged the A and became MA-MA.
• The F hugged the O and became FO-FO.
• The L hugged the A and became LA-LA.

The little letters understood that, alone, they could only make a little sound, but by holding hands they could create all the words in the world! From that day on, they always travel together, ready to tell new adventures!

The Joyful Picnic of Letters

One morning, the letters A, E, Ö, K, and M met. The weather was beautiful. "Let's have a picnic today!" they said.

The letter A found a huge tree. "Let's sit under the tree," it said.

The letter E brought bright red apples. Everyone was very happy.

At that moment, the letter ''Ö'' saw a little duck. The duck was walking and making a "quack quack" sound. The letters watched the duck and laughed.

A little later, the letter K arrived with a cute cat. The cat wandered around them and played.

Last, the letter M brought yellow bananas.

Everyone shared the bananas.

The letters sat under the tree,

ate, played, and had a lot of fun. At the end of the day, they all said together:

“It’s so nice to learn and make friends with the letters!”

Letter Town

Far away, there was a colorful Letter Town where letters came to life. At the entrance to the town, a loving "A" greeted everyone and sang songs in the flower fields.

The green "E" protects nature, plants trees everywhere, and also heals injured birds and returns them to their nests.

One day, the letter "S" transformed into a snake, coiling and twisting around the square, and rainbows filled the sky.

When evening came, all the letters, starting with "G," "T," and "R," gathered by the riverbank. When they held hands, a magical light rose. Because in this town, when letters come together, they create the most beautiful stories.

Jānis un Līga draudzīgi devās uz mežu un laukiem, lai noskaidrotu, kur dabā sastopami burtiņi – patskaņi un garie patskaņi.

A – Apse aug mežā. Tās lapas vējā viegli trīc un rada čaukstošu skaņu.

Ā – Ābele aug dārzā, un tajā nogatavojas gardi āboli.

E – Egle Ziemassvētkos kļūst par skaistu rotu – izpušķota tā stāv mājās, bērnudārzos un pat Rīgas centrā, Doma laukumā.

Ē – Ēzelītis ēd zāli un arī koku lapas.

I – Ieva pavasarī zied tik skaisti! Tās smarža apreibina, un daudzi cilvēki dodas uz Gaujas krastiem to skatīties.

Ī – Īss un neliels krūms aug mūsu pagalmā, bet cik gardas tajā ir melnās krūmmellenes! Ņamm!

U – Ugunsgrēks var būt ļoti bīstams gan kokiem, gan dzīvniekiem mežā, tāpēc jābūt ļoti uzmanīgiem.

Ū – Ūdensrozes ir Latgales ezeru rota un skaistums, tās ir īpaši aizsargājamas.

O – Ozols ir Latvijas lepnums – koks, kas simbolizē spēku un latviskās tradīcijas. No ozola pin vainagus Līgo svētkos jeb vasaras saulgriežos.

Story: A–O in Nature

Jānis and Līga set off together to the forest and fields to discover where vowels and long vowels can be found in nature.

A – The aspen tree grows in the forest. Its leaves tremble gently in the wind and make a soft rustling sound.

Ā – The apple tree grows in the garden, and it bears delicious apples.

E – The spruce tree becomes a beautiful decoration at Christmas – it is decorated in homes, kindergartens, and even in the center of Riga, in Dome Square.

Ē – The little donkey eats grass and also tree leaves.

I – The bird cherry blooms so beautifully in spring! Its scent is enchanting, and many people go to the banks of the Gauja River to see it.

Ī – A short and small bush grows in our yard, but it has such delicious black blueberries. Yum!

U – A forest fire can be very dangerous for both trees and animals, so we must be very careful.

Ū – Water lilies are the  beauty of Latgale’s lakes, and they are protected plants.

O – The oak tree is a symbol of Latvia – it represents strength and traditions. Oak wreaths are made for the Līgo (Midsummer) celebration.

Once upon a time, there were letters living in the Land of Colorful Letters. Each letter had its own unique color and personality. The red “A” was very brave, the blue “M” was calm, and the yellow “S” was always cheerful.

One day, a big problem appeared in the land. Words got mixed up, and sentences lost their meaning. The letters didn’t know what to do on their own. The red “A” stepped forward and said, “If we work together, we can fix everything!”
