It would be lovely to

Rebekah and the Happy Tree
Rebekah was a girl who spent her days playing along in the tall green grass.
She was as pretty as the wildflowers that grew in the fields behind your house.
On hot days Rebekah would lie back on the bed of moist ferns and dream her days
away.

The blue sky filled with dancing clouds revealing endless images of fluffy bunnies,
Cotton Angels, gentle faces and much more. She had quite an imagination. Rebekah
would giggle at any image as long she had clouds to gaze at. Her dad had a talent for
creating beauty in his garden. Every color possible made people stop and admire the
beauty of his wonderful imagination.

With colorful flowers came amazing butterflies. They were like sprinkles
fluttering in the warm summer breeze. When Rebekah lay still she could hear the
sound of their wings when they flew by her tickling her little delicate ears. The
beautiful sounds came in all forms. There was the blue jays with a sharp voice,
cardinals with their repeating chirps and the small chickadees with their tickling
tones.

Sometimes if their sounds came together, they created a natures’ symphony.
She opened her eyes slowly hoping to capture the birds in their happy moments.
Her smile while was as big as the sun. Her eyes exploded with sheer delight.
Rebekah enjoyed everything nature provided. They were the gifts she would
always cherish.

She gave thanks for every gift she was given. Rebekah’s grandmother had showed
her the fun and magic of many flowers. Rebekah would seek out certain oak trees
and peel layers of white bark from the tree trunk. It was truly calming and she
never ran out of tree trunks. The buttercup was the flower so fabulously yellow.
If she put the flower under her chin and the color yellow was reflected on her
skin that would mean she loved butter.

The daisy with white velvet petals and a yellow center would reveal if a boy
’loved you’ or ‘loved you not’. She would pull out one petal at a time. If the last
petal revealed that the boy “loved her not” she would start all over again with
a fresh new daisy. Sometimes she would go through lots of daisies. In the end
the boy would always end up loving her.

She never tired of playing the daisy game. Among the field of color there
was a plant that had the shape of the pea pod. The magic of this plant was if you
touched it gently with the tip of your finger the plant would immediately explode
shooting out tiny seeds that were snuggled inside. Even though Rebekah knew
what was going to happen she was startled every time.

It made her laugh each and every time. She found it extremely funny There
were only a few around so she made every touch count. Now dandelions were
plentiful, Rebekah would pop off the tops and collect lots of the stems which
she joined together making a lovely dandelion necklace. It was a fun craft that
cost her nothing.
