It was a Wednesday. Sam had been
waiting for this game all day. They were
about to play a big playoff game. If they
won, they would move onto final four. If
they lost, they would play on their own
home ice to go to final four. But sam
wanted to win this game, and not have to
play again. Sam's team also wanted to
win real bad. But they knew that they
would have to play their hardest. And Sam
would do anything to win

The opposing team, the pirates, needed to
win or they were out for good. So the T-
Birds knew this would be a tough game.
Just before the T-birds got on the ice,
Sam knew he was as ready as a runner
before a race.

Sam's line started the game off. They had
a good first shift, but couldn't score. But
on their third shift, Sam got the first goal
of the game, picking a spot down low left
side. He did a celebration on his knees.
His team and himself, were as happy as a
kid who one a prize at a fair for the first
time.

Then on the next shift, Sam's line mate,
Jordan, got a power play goal! It was 2-0
now. Now the T-birds were confident they
would win.

But then the Pirates scored. it was 2-1 at
the end of the second period. But Sam's
team were still confident that they would
win. But maybe a bit too confident. Sam
told them the win wouldn't come easy.

Sam was right! The pirates got a goal at
the beginning of the second period. Then
half way through the second, the Pirates
got another! Now Sam's team was losing
3-2.

But Sam had a vision. It was a spark he
needed to win. and in the final minute of
the third period, sam got in front of the
net. There was a scrum for the puck, and
Sam's line mate, Mikka, won the puck
Battle and looked at Sam...

Mikka passed the puck to Sam. Sam shot
the puck top right in the net... He scored!
it was a tie game at 3-3 now and the
second period was over.
