Green Sea Turtles

This is a Green Sea turtle, these specie are perfectly adapted in seawater. Their characteristics such as their smooth shell and strong flippers help them survive in the water.

But there was a time where living in the water for them was really dangerous. These Green sea turtles accomplished to survive human harm, pollution and is no longer endangered.

 Lets look into it more!

Why They Are Endangered

For a long time, things like overhunting and dirty waters made it very hard for them to stay safe and grow their families.

These areas are where you could find endangered green sea turtles.

Its so shocking to realize that humans are one of the main reasons many species of animals, like turtles, are slowly fading away. Since the 1500s, people have hunted down green sea turtles, and at times even a whole population of turtles. This overhunting has caused a decline in their numbers, threatening their survival.

In addition to hunting, habitat destruction due to coastal development, pollution, and climate change further endangers these creatures.

Humans Affects On Green Sea Turtles

Many turtles are accidentally caught in industrial fishing gear like shrimp trawls and angelines, which often lead to drowning them.

Another big threat green sea turtles faced, is losing their beaches where they'd lay their eggs where also many humans activites happen. It's not only human activity that affects these species, but it also includes habitat damage, fishing, boat traffic, and these major events can lead to high pollution.
