Every afternoon after school, David, Daniel, Ronson, and Jacob met at the park to play basketball together. They always competed against each other and had fun after school.
David was one of the best players, but he had a bad habit. He constantly made fun of everyone whenever they made mistakes.
One day, Daniel missed an easy shot. David laughed loudly and pointed at him.
“Daniel, you shoot like you’ve never touched a basketball before!” he joked.
The others stayed quiet, but David’s rude comments slowly started getting annoying.
As the games continued every day, David’s smack talking became worse. He laughed at Ronson’s bad passes and joked whenever Jacob tripped or missed a shot.
Even though the others tried ignoring him, they were getting tired of his attitude.
One afternoon, the score was tied during a close game. Everyone wanted to win badly.
David grabbed the basketball and smirked confidently.
“Watch this,” he said. “I’m about to end the game.”
He dribbled quickly across the court, trying to show off in front of everyone.
David spun around Daniel, but suddenly his foot slipped. He lost his balance and crashed onto the ground while the basketball rolled away.
Everything became completely silent for a moment.
David felt embarrassed as everyone stared at him.
