A long time ago, in the northern part of Sumatra, there lived a young man named Toba. He was a kind, and lovely farmer. Spending his days farming and fishing in a green valley surrounded by hills.

One evening, he is hungry and he went fishing in the river. After fishing for hours without a single catch, he became desprate and decided to go home. When he was about to go home, suddenly a powerful tug nearly pulled the rod from his hands. He was excited and started reeling his fishing rod. And there was a large golden fish.

He brought the fish home, excited to cook it. Toba placed the fish inside the basin while he went to the field to collect firewood.

"Where's the fish?! and who's gold coin is this ?"
But when Toba returned with firewood, the fish was gone! and instead there were pieces of gold coin inside the basin.

Then, when Toba opened his room, he was surprised. There was a beautiful woman combing her hair in front of a mirror.

"Who are you?"
"I am the fish you caught earlier, the gold coins were my scales."

Amazed, Toba asked her to be his wife. She agreed, but on one condition he must never tell their child that he was the son of a fish. Toba promised, and they lived happily together.

In time, they had a boy named Samosir. Samosir grew up into a naughty and lazy child. All he did was just play around

One day, his mother sent him to deliver lunch to his father in the fields. But on his way, Samosir played with his friend instead. After playing, Samosir felt hungry and he decided to eat his father's lunch and left him only a fish bone.

In the fields, Toba couldn't wait any longer. He was starving and he didn't eat breakfast because a lot of work needed to be done that day.

In the distance, Samosir came running. His father is already waiting for him
"Where have you been Samosir? I has been waiting for you for a long time!"
But Samosir did not answer him and immediately gave him the food.

"Hey Samosir, have you eaten my food? Your behaviour is out of line! You little fish, come here!
