
Parker laid snugly on his bed when his ears perked up and his bones began to shake. What was that scary noise?
RING RING RING!
It was an ALARM clock buzzing over and over!
The ball of fur ran fast into the corner, barking loud to call for his mother. -
"A" IS FOR ALARM CLOCK
Parker ran in the grass, proud of his cheetah-like speed. All of a sudden, he jumped in a fit of fright. A ball was tossed at his feet, threatening to push him down to the ground. Parker was afraid of the big ball.
"B' IS FOR BALL
Parker was learning how to sleep in his bed at night all by himself, and as he walked up to where he would sleep, he jumped back in fear. It was the big Cage with large metal bars that made a CRASH when it closed. Sleeping in the cage was scary!
"C" IS FOR CAGE
Parker was napping in his usual spot by the door, curled up, waiting for his family to come home. He awoke to the sound of someone pressing the Doorbell. DING DONG went the doorbell. Poor Parker woke up terrified from his peaceful nap.
"D " IS FOR DOORBELL
Parker smelled the delicious scent of coffee coming from the kitchen, where his human girl made her drinks. He walked over to get a better SNIFF, when he heard a terrible grinding and clanking noise. It was an espresso machine! How could something that smells so good, sound so scary?
"E" IS FOR ESPRESSO
Parker was just about to snuggle into his bed with his human mama, when then came the biggest WHOOSH he ever heard. It was the fan coming from his human boy’s room. How could a noise so loud and scary help a human boy fall asleep?
"F" IS FOR FAN
Parker heard the strum of a new instrument his human brother was learning to play. He was listening to the beautiful song, until his brother hit the wrong note, and it made him jump a million miles into the air! What a terrible and scary sound! Parker was very startled by the sound of the guitar.
"G" IS FOR GUITAR
Parker had just had a bath, which was one of his least favorite things to do. The bathtub was so scary! He did not like to be wet and soapy. What he was not prepared for when his human mama took him out of the bath, was the heat, blow and noise of the hairdryer. Parker hid under the bathroom sink to get away from the frightening BLOW.
"H" IS FOR HAIRDRYER
Parker was in the kitchen prowling around for a snack, when he heard the loudest BANG his fluffy little ears had ever heard! He peeked at the fridge and there it was, his arch enemy, the Icemaker. BOOM! BOOM! BANG! Went the icemaker, and whoosh went poor Parker running to his human mama for safety.
"I" IS FOR ICEMAKER
Parker was roaming around his backyard looking for a squirrel to chase, when he looked up high into the clouds and saw a huge metal torpedo flying through the air faster than he'd ever been able to run. It was a big, metal etplane, soaring through the sky. Parker decided to go back into his home where he was safe.
"J" IS FOR JET
Parker was waiting for his human mama to give him his favourite leafy green treat, like she did every day. But today was different, instead of a nice crunchy piece of lettuce, he received a small and crinkly piece of Kale! EWWW! Parker was scared to try new things.
"K" IS FOR KALE
Parker was looking all over his home for his human mama and could not find her anywhere. The only place that he hadn't looked was the scariest room in his whole home, the laundry room. He was too frightened by the creaky door and the loud swishes coming from inside the machine. He could not work up the courage to look for Mom inside the room. The laundry room is scary!
"L" IS FOR LAUNDRY ROOM
Parker walked into his human girls room to see what she was doing and he jumped back as he passed her large framed mirror. He saw some other puppy standing there and he looked just like him! But his girl told him it was okay. It was only his reflection and that he shouldn’t be scared of the mirror! Silly Parker!
"M" IS FOR MIRROR
Parker’s nails were growing out to be very long, and he knew exactly what was coming. That tiny little sharp tool that goes snip, snip! Oh, no, not the nailclippers! Parker was very scared of the big sharp nailclippers.
"N" is for nailclippers
Parker smelled the delicious smell of banana bread baking in the big gray box called the oven. The oven set off an alarm and then his humans took food out of it. He walked by the oven sniffing that delicious smell and was yelled at by his Mom to back away from the oven because it was too hot for little puppy noses! Mom's caution scared Parker! He didn't want to burn his nose.
"O" IS FOR OVEN
Parker was in the office taking a nap on his cozy couch, when he heard the printer start to print some papers. Parker didn't like the noise that the printer made, HUMMMMM, THUD, THUD, THUD. Parker hid under the desk until the scary printer noise stopped.
"P" IS FOR PRINTER
Parker was enjoying his daily outside time and stuck his little nose into a beautiful rose bush to SNIFF the pretty flowers. He heard a loud BUZZ and felt a sharp sting! OUCH, a Queen Bee stung his poor nose! Parker is scared of bees and their sharp stingers!
"Q" IS FOR QUEEN BEE
Parker was in his backyard and he saw an unfamiliar face underneath the wooden deck. The face had long whiskers, black eyes, and long pointy teeth. It was a rat! YIKES! Parker ran faster than lightning away from the scary rat.
"R" IS FOR RAT
Parker heard his human girl scream in her room, and he ran to go see what was wrong. She was pointing at something on the ground. Parker immediately turned around when he saw the eight-legged furry spider crawling towards him. Even though spiders are small, Parker does not like spiders! Spiders are creepy!
"S" IS FOR SPIDERS
Parker awoke to the loudest sound he had ever heard, and it was coming from outside. He ran outside to see where the strange noise was coming from. CHOOOOO CHOOOOOO. He thought choo choo trains were supposed to be friendly, but this one sounded angry and it woke him up from his sleep!
"T" IS FOR TRAIN
Parker went to the beautiful beach one day with his human family. He loved to walk the beach and feel the sand in between his toes, but he had to stay as far away from the ocean as possible. Parker liked the sand but was terribly frightened of the strong wavey water. He did not want to get caught in the scary part of the ocean called the undertow. Parker decided to stay safely on shore.
