Hi!

My name is Gigi.

I'm in fourth grade.

I love to read books and even make my own stories,

drawing, and playing with my friends.

Here are some pictures of my friends and me. I am the shortest girl among them.

At least I have some friends. 

Here is one thing about me that I don't really like: almost everyone notices me 

before they notice anything else.

I'm the smallest kid in my class.

And not just my class, in my entire grade.

And when that happens, when people say I look small or cute, I usually smile a little or pretend it doesn't bother me.

But inside, I don't really like it, and I know I do NOT really like myself.

That's why I'm writing this story.

I want to tell you what it feels like to be me and so you don't make the same mistake that I made.

People can see that I'm small.

What they can't see are the feelings inside my heart.

Some people think that's funny.

Sometimes kids look at me and ask,

"Are you sure you're not in kindergarten?"

Then they laugh, and others say, "Aww, how cute," and I actually hate that. And one thing is, I am not good at acting happy when I am sad. Why can't they see that? 

Maybe you've never been the smallest kid in your class.

Maybe you've never had someone laugh because of how you look.

But maybe you've felt different in some other way.

If you have, I think you'll understand my story.
