Miguel loved riding his bright blue bicycle. Every afternoon after school, he raced down the sidewalks with his friends, laughing as the wind rushed past his face. 

His bicycle wasn't just his favorite toy—it gave him freedom and adventure.

One afternoon, Miguel wanted to impress his friends. Feeling confident, he decided to try a trick he had seen older kids do. He pedaled faster and faster, as he lifted his front wheel, he lost control. Before he could stop himself, his tire slammed into the curb.

CRASH!!

At the repair shop, the mechanic explained that fixing the bicycle would cost more money than Miguel had saved.

"I'll just have to get a new one," Miguel said quietly.

His parents smiled kindly.

"We'll help you," Dad said, "but you'll have to earn the money to repair it."

Miguel sighed. It sounded like a lot of work.

The next day, Miguel got to work. He raked leaves, washed cars, walked dogs, and helped his grandmother carry groceries. Some days he felt tired. Other days he wanted to quit when he saw his friends riding their bikes without him.

Still, he reminded himself, "If I keep going, I'll reach my goal."

Little by little, his savings grew.
