No one taught me how to smile, yet I do it frequently. I 

love to smile and laugh! If I'm motivated by smiling, 

then I will partake in behavior that will cause me to 

smile, for example, talking to my friends and watching 

funny movies! 

I am motivated by sleep. I need lots of sleep, and get 

in a very bad mood when I haven't gotten enough. 

Here, the primary drive would be going to bed and 

sleeping. The secondary drive would be finishing my 

homework quickly so that I can get to sleep as early as 

possible. 

I love to travel. Getting on planes, going on road-trips, 

and seeing new places give me a sort of thrill. 

I enjoy reading. I reward myself with a chapter or two 

after a spell of doing homework. Here, an extrinsic 

motivation would be when I have to read for school in 

order to get a good grade. An intrinsic motivation 

would be reading my own books for fun. 

I love food! I am always hungry and pack so much food 

everyday it's unreal! I get in a bad mood when I am 

really hungry! 

My house is a place that I know I can come back to 

after a hard day. I know that here I will always be 

safe. 

I love my friends! They always manage to put a 

smile on my face and cheer me up. They accept me 

for who I am and I can always rely on them.

Knowing that you have achieved something in your 

life, have the respect of others, and self-respect 

gives people a sense of satisfaction and self-worth.
