"Hi I'm Billy!".

"Today is my first day in 'big school'".

Billy is starting reception today.

"My tummy feels funny" Billy said to his mummy.

"It's okay you're starting a new exciting adventure, where you'll learn lots of new things and make more friends" Billy's mummy said.

Billy feels nervous but excited too.

"I can get ready for school" says Billy.

"I need to brush my teeth".

"I need to put on my clothes".

"I need to put on my shoes".

"I need to get my bag and lunchbox".

"I might need to ask for help sometimes, but that's okay!" Billy said confidently.

Billy's mummy drives him to school after some yummy breakfast.

Billy and mummy talk about his new school in the car.

His mummy tells him that his best friend Sally is in the same class.

This makes Billy feel very happy.  

Billy and his mummy get to school.

He can see lots of children smiling and playing.

This makes Billy feel safe.

Billy gives his mummy a big hug and says bye bye, and he goes towards his new teacher.

Billy's teacher Mrs Smith introduces herself, and all the children go to their classroom.

Everyone takes their coat and bag off, and puts their lunchboxes away.

That's when Billy see's his best friend Sally.

"Hi Sally" Billy says excitedly.

"Hi Billy, I am so excited for school".

This reassures Billy, and they all sit on the carpet for circle time.
