This is about a boy who is 10 years old. His name is Yuki. Yuki 

has no parents being somehow created by magic. He was 

given a magic wand when he was 5 and he found a spell-book 

at the age of 8. He lives in a cave in the forest. He has spiky 

black hair, and light colored skin. He has bright shining blue 

eyes and always wears a black tank top and black shorts and 

black and white shoes with no laces. The reason Yuki only 

ever wears a black tank top and black shorts is because he 

doesn't have any other clothes.

Yuki was in his cave, getting ready for school. Derick was 

going to meet him in town, the town where Derick lives. 

Yuki’s cave isn’t too far away from the town, it’s just through 

the woods somewhere. Yuki packed his stuff in his leather 

sack, which is like a backpack, and ran out of his cave. He 

ran down out of the woods and into the town, he saw Derick 

waiting for him at the bus stop. Yuki sat down against the 

bus stop sign, and talked with Derick for a while, until the 

bus came. When the bus finally came, Derick stepped up 

the stairs and sat down in his and Yuki’s favorite seat. Yuki 

got on the bus and went to sit with Derick. They talked the 

whole way to school. It was a pretty normal bus ride. 

Derick and Yuki got to school and they went to breakfast. It 

was pancakes and bacon, pretty common for their school. 

Their school animal is a Hawk. Their school is called Wipster 

Hawk School. After Yuki and Derick ate breakfast together 

they walked down the long hallway to their lockers. Derick 

asked Yuki if he could teleport him to class, (Derick knows 

Yuki can use magic) but Yuki said, 

“Derick come on, I can’t do that every time you're late.”

“But, if you have magic why wouldn’t you use it?” asked 

Derick. 

“No, you can walk, I’m walking. Plus, we are going to the 

same class. Jeez, I’m late too you know.” Yuki replied.

Yuki and Derick ran to class together, and made it in their 

classroom just in time. “Hello, Mr. Fretson” Yuki and Derick 

both said in unison to their math teacher.

Mr. Fretson was kind of stern and has light blond hair, and 

green eyes with narrow glasses. He was tall and thin. He 

liked Derick the best, so he is nicer to him than others. 

“Please open your math books. Do page 135 to 140.” 

There was a groan from half the class.

Yuki opened his desk and got out his math book, he then 

turned to page 135 and worked on that. 

Yuki finished three pages when Jared, a kid in his class, 

stood up and said “Done.” Then Jared walked up to Mr. 

Fretson’s desk and presented his math book to him.

It was only one minute later that five kids popped up and 

went to Mr. Fretson’s desk. 

Derick finished a little later. And a minute after that Yuki finished 

too.

The only kid left was Chad, a not so bright kid.   Chat was also 

short.   Only about four feet tall, with short golden hair, and 

brown eyes. Chad was struggling to finish his math before next 

class.

Yuki looked back at Chad, and saw that he was on the last 

question. Chad's seat was right behind Yuki.   Yuki leaned back, 

making sure Mr. Fretson wasn’t looking. Yuki whispered to 

Chad, “Hey, Chad, the answer is…” Yuki whispered even 

quieter, “42.” 

Chad quickly nodded and wrote down the answer. {I hope Mr. 

Fretson didn’t hear that, so bad.} Yuki thought.

Chad stood up and went to Mr. Fretson’s desk, “I’m finally 

done,” Chad said.

Just then the bell rang for second period.

Yuki stood up and walked out the door of Room 7 with Derick. 

They walked down the hall to History.

When they got there they realized they were the fourth ones 

there. They saw their teacher, Ms. Milton. She was average 

size, with brown hair up in a bun, with dull blue eyes, unlike 

Yuki, who's were super bright. She wasn’t nice or mean, she 

was somewhere in between. Yuki and Derick took their seats, 

which were side by side. Yuki was glad he sat by Derick for 

social studies, since he wasn’t the best at it.

Ms. Milton talked about stuff that Yuki tuned out. He was just 

thinking, what if someone saw him using his magic? What if 

something bad happened? What if he couldn't go to school 

anymore...? and Derick, what if something happened to him? He 

shuddered. {I shouldn't over think it.} Yuki thought to himself. Then 

Ms. Milton asked him a question. Yuki said, "Uh, what? Can you 

please repeat the question?"

Ms. Milton repeated, "what mountains run through the Southeast 

and Northeast?"

"Uh, the-the Appalachian Mountains." Yuki said.

Ms. Milton said, "Correct."

A sigh of relief came over Yuki. One minute later the bell rang. 

Great, Yuki thought happily, gym class!

Yuki said, "Come on Derick!"

Derick said, "Why?"

Yuki smirked "You know."

Derick was smiling now too. They lurked and hid around a corner so 

nobody could see them. Yuki took out his wand, smiling. "Ok." Yuki 

said. He waved his wand around in a weird pattern, then he said, 

"Cerba cia le malec." A blue swirling portal appeared in front of Yuki. 

Derick, happily said, "It's still awesome."

"It always will be." Yuki said. Then he leaped into the portal and 

Derick followed. They came out of another portal outside the gym 

doors. The portals had now disappeared and Yuki was walking into 

the gym. Derick followed.

They got there just in time. They had to run 10 laps. Yuki was 

the fastest kid in 5th grade and not because of magic. Yuki 

bolted down the lines on the sides of the gym, running as fast 

as he could. He wasn't even counting the laps, he was just 

running.

Derick finally caught up to him enough to tell him he'd be done 

this lap. Yuki stopped at the stands. He climbed up and sat to 

catch his breath. He watched Derick run around the gym. Yuki 

was almost ALWAYS first done running. A few people got 

done running and sat up by Yuki panting and gasping. Derick 

finally came and sat right by Yuki, completely out of breath. 

They waited for everyone to finish running, then their gym 

teacher, Mr. Eppy said they would play dodge ball. It was hard 

for Yuki or Derick to say his name without laughing.

Yuki got picked for a team captain, as did a boy named Ben. 

Yuki had first pick and of course, he said, "Derick." Derick 

walked up to Yuki, then behind him.

Ben picked a girl, "Mary."

After a while they had the teams picked and they went on to 

the two sides of the gym, split by the half court line. They all 

got a dodge ball, on Ben's side. Then Mr. Eppy blew his 

whistle, WHIIII, is what it sounded like. Toby threw the ball right 

at Yuki, but he ducked down and rolled out of the way, scared 

half to death. Derick threw a ball at Mick, when he wasn't 

looking, and hit him. Dodge balls were flying everywhere, a few 

people caught them and a few people threw and hit people.
