Dear Reader,
While you read, try to imagine yourself as Trixie or
Julia. How would you feel, and how would you act. It
would be a good idea to have a friend that is a good
reader, read it to you while you relax and close your
eyes. Also try to find a connection with the character
while listening/reading this book. Trixie is more
outgoing, cheerful, and friendly. Julia is more timid,
thoughtful, and funny. But, which ever character you
choose, enjoy!
-Kate Carroll

Dear Julia,
I miss you! It must be hard making new
friends in Texas. Guess what? Mom said I could
get a kitten! Guess what I'm gonna call her?
Julia! Mom's also expecting a baby! We found
out yesterday. I do hope it's a girl! Mom says
I'm gonna have to share my room if it's a girl
also. But, It's going to be worth it! We all miss
you! My family says hi. I'm looking forwards to
your letter!
-Trixie

Dear Trixie,
I miss you so much! I'm happy that your getting
a kitten! I'm so jealous that your gonna have a
sibling! Rick is starting college here. Bet he's going
to miss you...I'm going to miss him. Yes, it is hard
starting in the middle of a school year. Yet, I've
managed to make a few friends. Stella, Tina, and
Allison. Father bought a ranch! We have cows,
chickens, and pigs! We're getting a couple horses in
the fall! There's a huge pond with ducks and fish
behind our house! There are grassy hills that are
fun to roll down. I can't wait to hear from you
again! -Julia

Dear Julia,
Wow! Living on a ranch must be so much fun!
GUESS WHAT? I know its a long time away, but
my folks called your folks, and they said its alright
if you guys come for Christmas!!!!! I know it
sounds crazy, but still!!!! By the way, I got Julia!
She is adorable! I drew a picture so you know
what she looks like. And....the baby's a boy!!!
Can you believe it? A boy for a sibling! Anyways,
here's a picture of Julia. Hope to hear from ya
soon!
-Trixie

Dear Trixie,
I am also SO excited! Seeing you!! Rich is gonna
come also! Anyways, Julia the kitten is so cute!
What type is she? I have some names for the baby!
Andrew, Michael, Jackson, James, and Ryan. Rich is
so excited! He says: "About time your friend has
somebody born like me!!" He's so funny! Mrs. Stark,
the eighth grade teacher, is going to have a baby
too! It's going to be a girl named Piper or Sarah. Get
this, she's gonna be born about the same time as
your baby brother! I miss ya!
-Julia

Dear Julia,
Thank you so much for the names! My
parents love Andrew and Ryan! When I told
Julia the kitten about you, she purred!! By
the way, Rich is in college, and I'm in tenth
grade! How could he like me, may I ask?
Yuck! Anyways, I'm keeping a binder of all
your letters. It's purple and orange with a star
in the middle. Here's a picture! Love, Love
LOVE....
-Trixie

Dear Trixie,
Alright, a was exaggerating about Rick a little
bit, but still! Mom suggested Tomas for the
new baby. Tom for short. We have two Ponies
now! Riding Star, and Topaz! Mine is Topaz.
She so fast and sweet! I want her to be in the
grand race this Spring. My pumpkins are
starting to grow! Christmas is only a couple
months away! See ya a christmas!
-Julia

Dear Julia,
Sorry I didn't get this to you sooner! Julia the
kitten is an American short hair. By the way,
tell your teacher I adore the name Piper! I also
love the name Topaz. My mom is considering
the name Tom. But I like the name Andrew.
You know what? You should make pumpkin pie
out of the pumpkins for Thanksgiving! My mom
is raising turkey for the main course. We are
also gonna have cranberry sauce! I can't wait to
hear from you!
-Trixie

Dear Trixie,
I have to cut this short. Riding Star was his
by a car. Rick is so sad.
-Julia

Dear Julia,
I'm so sorry! But.....Christmas is in four
weeks! I'm making your present! You'll never
guess what it is! Oh! And Thanksgiving was
awesome! Pa cooked the meat just right, and
I made the cranberry sauce! Remember
Toostie Plummings and her brother Joe? Well,
they came! It was so much fun! And guess
what? Andrew was born! He is so adorable!
So..much..stuff..to..say! I can't wait to see
ya!
