One day, Carl, the CO2 molecule, was hanging with
his friends in a smoke stack in a factory. The group
was talking about where each of them would be going
next: if they would meet up with a plant, or go under
water, or even stay in the air.

Carl knew that his time was up to leave the safety of
the smokestack, he knew that this would be the
last time seeing his friends. As Carl was leaving the
stack, he was saying his goodbyes to all his friends.

Leaving the smokestack, Carl began to dream
about what it would be like to go through
photosynthesis in a plant. He imagined what
if would be like to turn into oxygen. He
pictured everything that could be possible as
being oxygen and the things he could do, like
power the body of a person or animal.

After dreaming about being oxygen, Carl realized that
he was quickly approaching the ozone line. He knew
that one of two things would happen, one he would
pass through or two, he would be sent back to earth.

Upon reaching the ozone layer, Carl began to
have a conversation with Toby the ozone (O3)
molecule. Carl believed that he was one of the
select few to leave the atmosphere, but Toby
told Carl he had to stay. He stated that Carl had
to hang around the city of Chicago for a day
and then go back and talk to him.

When Carl arrived in Chicago, he was greeted
by his cousins Cooper and Pete. They began to
talk and they were finding out where each of
them came from. Carl explained to his cousins
what it was like in a smokestack.

Cooper was the next person to talk, and he
began by stating all the different types of cars.
The one that he came from was an old Dodge
Charger. He explained how fast this car could
go. He also stated that it was a heavy polluter
because it did not release clean air.
