     Bubble Fun

     Shane and Melissa were brother and sister.Their mommy and 

daddy worked five days a week. They had a care giver who would 

come to stay and take good care of them during the day. At the 

end of the long day she would leave to go to her own home to have 

supper with her husband.The caregiver's name was Charyn. 

     She had children of her own but they were all grown up. Every 

morning Charyn would get up at six o'clock and prepare herself for 

a very interesting day with Shane and Melissa. She would pack 

special items in a bag to surprise them throughout the day. Almost 

every day there was plenty of interesting things to do.

     There was one small problem that drove Shane, Melissa and 

Charyn crazy every day. The family pet was always getting in the way. 

The family pet was a yellow bumblebee. It was a she. Her name was 

Alexa. She had a smile on her face all the time.When Charyn would 

come to the door Alexa would fly around making annoying buzzing 

noises. '

     'She would never hurt a fly' said mommy jokingly.

     When Alexa would fly away to the other side of the house Shane 

and Melissa would take time to eat their breakfast and get dressed 

for the busy day ahead. It was not always easy to get ready with a 

bumblebee in the room. It didn't matter really because they all loved 

their family pet. 

     When Charyn would enter the house Shane and Melissa would be 

full of energy. Melissa would be jumping on the couch and Shane 

would be sitting still trying to really wake up for the day. It was 

time for mommy and daddy to leave. They gave hugs and kisses to 

last throughout the day. Melissa was happy to see mommy and daddy 

leave. 

     She would shout out 'Have a good day Momma!' 

     Shane would say that too but he had to leave for part of the day 

to attend school. Shane would put up a fuss so he could stay home 

but Daddy and Mommy were not having any of that. When Shane 

would come home from school he would rush into the house to see 

what he may have missed while he was away.

       Charyn and Melissa were there to meet Shane as he got off the 

bus. Alexa was not far away. The buzzing noise was very close by. 

   What did you do today Melissa?' Shane asked with great 

excitement.

    'Well Charyn and I went to the store and bought some chicken 

nuggets and milk for supper. I was a good girl so Charyn bought me 

carrots and dip. I have one for you too Shane. If you do your 

homework you can see the surprise that is in the purse. I cannot tell 

you because it is a big secret.   

     Shane opened his school bag and began to do his homework. He 

could not wait to see the big surprise that Charyn had bought in the 

store.

     Shane did all his homework and rushed through his supper in 

hopes of finding the surprise much sooner. Melissa smiled as she 

watched Shane ask over and over again.

     'What is the surprise Charyn? Tell me please. I did all my 

homework and ate all my supper. Does Melissa know what the 

surprise is?' Shane was breathing really fast.

     'Slow down Shane' Charyn said.

    Shane took a deep breath and sat up on the kitchen chair and 

waited patiently for the surprise.
