Once upon a time, in land far away,
Emma Laura was celebrating her Birthday.

She put out the cake and ran to get dressed,
Then Emma Laura waited for guests.

Friends came in and they partied ‘til night,
But everyone left when the day lost the light.

Emma sat down, there on the spot,
And opened up every present she got.

One friend gave a lolly-pop as big as her head,
Another gave Emma an awesome new sled.

Then in a box that was smelly and damp,
Somebody left her a dirty old lamp.

The lamp was ugly and smelled like mold,
And after she cleaned it still looked old.

But then the lamp began to crack and leak,
And something inside began to speak

“Hooray for you, who set me free,
I grant wishes and you get three.

Wish for the moon or wish for the sea,
What oh what will your wishes be!”

Emma was stunned, a genie, no way!
This was cooler than the wooden sleigh.

What to wish for, she didn't know…
Then it hit her, she said OK LETS GO!

“Like Sofia, I want a purple gown,
I wish to be a princess, and wear a crown.”

The genie said...

“Hold my lamp and count with me,
Emma the first in One…Two…THREE!!!”

“Princess Emma you have until nine,
Your wish will expire at that time.

But until then, go and have fun,
I will come find you when your time is done.”

Emma rode a magic carpet with Baileywick and clover,
But the amulet shrunk her when the ride was over.

When Emma grew, she grew into a yak,
At nine the Genie came and turned her back.

“OK Emma, it’s time for wish number two,
Anything you wish, I can give to you”

"I love ice cream, cakes and treats,
I wish to live in a world made of sweets."
