It’s my first day in the new ant hill!
I am so excited.
I get to meet all the new ants,
and some of my friends will be there
from the old ant hill.

I’m finally in the new ant hill.
I look around and there are a
lot of different sorts of ants.

I am a young ant, and I go in to the
section with the other young ants
for part of my day.
All of the new ants look amazing.

But, I see one little ant close
to me who hasn't grown much
yet.
I think her name is Tina.

All of the other ants look at
her weirdly.
I feel bad for her.

The other ants are
having a great time in their
sections.
None of them have any
small ants who haven’t grown yet.

Some of the ants who are my
age start calling Tina mean
names.
They want me to join them.

“Jane! Look at her, she’s weird!”
They call to me.
They chant over and over, “Tiny
Tina! Tiny Tina!”
I did not want to join them.

I busy myself by doing something else.
But, I could still see them bullying Tina.
She droops down more and more with
each hurtful word they say.

Tina whimpers, “Please leave me alone…”
The bullies just laugh harder and kept
chanting rude words.
Tina starts to cry.

Some of the older ants look at
the bullies circling Jane.
They shake their heads.

The bullies turn towards me and start
yelling at me to look at Tina.
I didn't want to.
Tina could see the look on my face and she
knew that I didn't want to do it.

I decided that I would stand up
for Tina.
She didn't do anything to them,
and she didn't deserve this.

I shout at them, “This is not right.
She didn't do anything to you! It’s
not her fault she hasn't grown
yet.”
