Now or Then
Off I go into the wild blue yonder. The plane is
huge and filled with lots of people so excited to see
big and new animals. I know we will be safe so I am
prepared to take lots of pictures to show my
friends when I get back home.

The first animal we see from high in the sky
is the lion. His furry mane makes him look very
dominant. I am glad we are up high. As we get
lower to the airport I spot some tigers. They are
from the cat family. I have a cat but not as big as
those ones.

The jungle is a very big place. Plenty of large
animals live together but they do not all get along.
The giraffe is as tall as the trees. She protects her
young from the hungry lions.

The elephants are very protective of every
elephant in their herd. The young elephants are
kept between the large elephants to keep the
hungry prey from attacking and eating them.

Wild horses are free to run as they
please. It gets very hot in the dessert.
The vulture is ready for any easy prey.
Not all the animals survive in the wild.
The zebras have to be very safe. Many
animals attack them for survival.

The water buffalo travel in large herds. They
protect their herd as much as they can. There will
be one that would wonder off. Before it is aware he
is in danger. Tigers attack with great fury.

The watering hole is a great place to drink and
replenish the hot skin of many animals. There are
times when the rain stops for days. The water
dries up. The animals have to travel far to seek
out more water to survive.

Eagles,vultures and many
kinds of water fowl take
refuge on trees along the
shoreline. They remain there
until the sun rises. Then they
fly out to seek more food.
