Super Sophia

Once upon a time, there was a day all would remember,
When Super Sophia was born that December.

At 8:54 on a December 27th morn,
A beautiful baby Sophia was born.Birthdate: 12/27/11
Time: 8:54 am
Weight: 6 lb 2 1/2 oz
Length: 19 1/4"

At that moment, her parents' hearts instantly doubled,
But soon after birth, there were signs of trouble.

To Riley's ICU Sophia was flown,
Her condition and prognosis still unknown.

Through many tests and her doctors' wisdom,
Sophia was diagnosed with CHARGE Syndrome.

While there were many challenges that lay ahead,
Sophia decided that she would fight instead.

Sophia grew stronger and stronger,
until she needed the hospital no longer.

The nurses had fallen in love with Sophia's heart of gold,
And were sad to see her leave at just four months old.

With the odds stacked against her, no one had any idea,
that this sweet girl would become Super Sophia.

Once at home with all the love her family nourished,
Sophia's capabilities soon began to flourish.

It wasn't long before Sophia could breathe without the vent,
And soon after that her continuous oxygen went.
