Hi! My name is Trent and I am an aspiring 

band member! My mom and dad were both in 

the band and I have always wanted to be 

just like them! 

Today was the very first day of band class. 

I was so excited to pick an instrument to 

play. The only problem was that I loved all 

of the shiny, new instruments and could not 

pick just one! But, Mrs. Quarternote told us 

we had to choose one by Friday! That was 

only four days away… 

The next day I began my journey to find 

the perfect instrument for me. 

I started talking to Sally who plays the 

saxophone. Sally told me that the 

saxophone was gold and shiny. It made a 

wonderfully loud sound, but sometimes it 

squeaked and hurt her ears. So I decided 

to give it a try… 

One blow later and I decided the 

saxophone was not for me. 

After giving the saxophone a try, I decided 

to move on and talk to my friend Claire, who 

plays the clarinet. She told me that the 

clarinet is very quiet and has a hollow 

sound. It can even be used to put babies 

asleep, except when it squeaks! So I 

decided to give it a try… 

One blow later and I decided the clarinet 

was not for me.
