As I held my mother's hand I 

heard,

"Bleacher seat tickets for sale, I've 

got tickets for sale!" thunder 

through my ears while anxiously 

waiting to enter Wrigley Field.

My palms were dripping with sweat 

from the excitement I felt, and my 

tummy rumbled for a hot dog!

"Mom we're next in line", cheered my 

sister Katie. As I handed my ticket 

away, I was surprised with a Barbie doll. 

She was wearing a hat that matched 

mine, with the big letter "C" in the 

middle and dressed in red, white, and 

blue clothing.

Then it all began...

My family and I scrambled to find 

our seats behind home plate. The 

hot sun was beating down on us. 

After sunscreen was applied, I 

watched the players warm-up and 

drooled over the pink cotton candy 

that floated by. 

Barbie and I were in our own little 

world, until the music began for 

the "Seventh Inning Stretch".

So we began to sing!

“Take me out to the ball game,

Take me out with the crowd.

Buy me some peanuts and cracker jack,

I don’t care if I never get back, Let me 

root, root, root for the CUBBIES,

If they don’t win it’s a shame.

For it’s one, two, three strikes, you’re 

out,

At the old ball game.”
