Introduction:

This Poetry Anthology is all about the world of 

dance.You will see metaphors, personification, similes, 

onomatopoeia and more. I chose to write about this 

because I have danced for over 6 years and it is 

something important to me. I thought I could write 

about this easily and really express my feelings for 

dance. You will see some poems created by me and 

some are created by other people. Each of these poems 

talk about dance in someway. I feel as if the poems 

authors love dance just as much as much as I do. This 

project over all tought me a lot. I didn't like how we 

had to use figurative language for all the poems, that's 

one of the only thing I would change.

Graceful on the feet

Graceful on my feet

as I move gently like a soft wind hitting a sheet. Of 

paper.

feelings kept inside are spilling out from left to right

a few mistakes here and there they will be fixed. Later.

I am alone in this big world with out a smile on my face

lonely like a swan who lost its beauty and its grace.

I sit here and remember the memories i once shared

is being so Lonely the reason I am scared?

Being myself tends to drive me insane

because all I ever do is nag and complain

and the fact that on my journey I know i will be 

crumbled .

Universal Dance

Dancing is my life

Dance can be universal

Dance is amazing

Dance is Life

Dancing is awesome 

The studio is my home

The Imagery of Dance

Line 11: When we hear the word "prance" it 

kind of makes us think of these Olympic dancing 

horses, but we're weird so whatever. When 

we're told that the dancers "prance as they 

dance" in this poem, it makes us think of how 

proud these dancers are. It's an interesting 

contrast to a lot of the other language in the 

poem, which gives a much more gritty sense of 

the dancers' movement. Here, we're reminded 

that these people are proud of their dancing 

skills. They may not be the richest people in the 

world, but their lives are still ones of dignity.

Haiku #3

Pointe shoes hurt so much

Both my feet are bleeding now

I now have blisters

Alliteration for Dance

Running at the right rhythm 

no nonsense needing attention;

Doing a dance though the day 

ferociously fast It's flying!

Built to be a busy bee,  

waking wanting to be working;

Perfectly productive

taking advantage of the time;

Running at the right rhythm  

Coveting each click of the clock

They made a zigzag

With their little tails they wag

Have no regard

It's not too hard

It turns out they had a bag
