I woke up with a huge pain   on my 

side. Last night I got checked hard 

into the boards. I got out of bed and 

went to the bathroom.

   Sleeping in the same room with 

half of my team sounds weird, but its 

not. You'll still hear Seth snoring like 

a pig but you'll still get a good nights 

sleep.

   After I got out of bed I head 

downstairs to meet the team for 

breakfast. I sat at a table with 

Donovan, Ian, and Nick.

   We talked for awhile about the 

flight home. Ian said it was at noon. 

After we finished eating we went 

upstairs to pack our bags.

   When the plane took off, I fell 

asleep. I slept for about two hours, 

then woke up and listened to music 

until the pilot said we were making 

our descent. 

   After we landed at LAX, Donovan's mom 

picked us up, and we drove home. I said 

thanks to Donovan's mom and walked to 

the front door of my house. I knocked on 

the door and my mom opened it slowly. 

She was crying.

   It was our first practice since coach 

had died. Everyone was still doing 

great and we did some skating   and 

passing drills. At the end we 

scrimmaged and nobody scored. 

   "Why are you crying," I asked. She 

said that coach had died in a plane 

crash. I stood there in front of the 

T.V. and asked her "how are we 

supposed to win the championship?""

   Then she said something I never 

thought she would say. "I'll coach," she 

said. 

"How," I asked. 

" You know I'm the one who taught you 

how to play hockey anyways and now look 

at you!"

"Awesome!" I said and we went to lunch.

   The next day we were driving to 

Seattle to play our playoff game. I 

fell asleep the whole drive.

   "Gabriel, Wake up!" It was 

Donovan,"We're here."

   I went into the hotel and got a 

Sprite, some Cheetos, and some 

Gummy bears out of the vending 

Machine.

   That night at 5 o'clock, we went to 

the rink. After we finished putting   on 

our gear we started warm-ups. After 

we finished that, we started the 

game. I was on the starting line with 

Ian, Donovan, Seth, Nick, and Kevin.
