In my backyard, behind the dustbin,
lives a small, Grey, whiny cat.
I don’t know when exactly he started
living there,
But he became a part of my daily
view.

Every morning he wakes up early,
and goes for a stroll around the
neighborhood, looking for
leftovers near the dustbin. I see
him on my way to work.

He always has a funny expression on his face,
like he's going to tell a funny joke, and roll
around.
But he is always alone. I never saw him
playing with other cats, or people.
He even sleeps alone in the cold night of
Jerusalem.

One day, I left the house early in the
morning, and looked for him while I
drove away from the neighborhood. I
got used to see him every day, but
today, he wasn’t anywhere to be
seen.
I continued on my way with him on
my mind, promising myself to go look
for him the moment I get home.

While entering the neighborhood
on my way back home, I still
couldn’t find him anywhere. I
started to worry. I felt like there
is something wrong.

I parked my car, and started to walk
around looking for 'my' missing cat.
I tried to call him with different
sounds, and even brought a piece of
pastrami, but he was gone.

eventually, I went back home,
frustrated for not finding him. I
made dinner, cleaned the dishes,
and arranged my papers for
tomorrow. The night came down,
and the last task was taking out
the trash. I tied the bag, carrying
it outside the door, heading to
the dustbin, when I suddenly
heard a weird noise.

I walked around the dustbin, and couldn’t
believe what my eyes were seen!
I saw the grey cat lying, surrounded by 4
little kittens!
I was amazed! All this time I thought it
was a "he", but it was a "she" all along! And
she was pregnant!
