Hi! I'm Alyssa, and I'm seven years old. I have no
Mommy, but I do have a very nice Daddy named Adam
and a sometimes nice brother named Ryan. I never had
a Mommy, because Daddy adopted me from China and
Ryan from Detroit. He is a kind Daddy. His funny friend
Tyler comes over sometimes with his 13 year old
daughter Cassie. She taught me how to knit. One day I
saw a boy from school have two Daddies. I thought only
boys and girls could love each other, not boys and boys.
Daddy says some boys love other boys and some girls
love other girls. He calls them twosome couples. I think
that it is cool that people can do that. It makes me feel
joy that everyone can be happy in their own way, even if
I don't really understand it.

One day when Tyler came over, Daddy and him
whispered something to Cassie and Ryan. They nodded,
and led me to my room. We all played cards. "What is it?" I
ask them. Ryan says "You're too little to understand." I
stomp on his foot. "You're only eleven!" Cassie tells me that
my Daddy and Tyler want to talk, alone. I ask why, but they
tell me to focus one the game. Why won't they tell me
anything? I want to know! The rest of the day we stay in
my room until a pizza comes, and we all eat it. I ask Daddy
and Tyler what is going on, but they don't tell me either. I
am sad all night, until I have a brilliant idea! All night I
think about it, and I even consider telling Ryan. But he will
probably laugh, so I don't. I'll tell Daddy in the morning.

The next morning, I talk to Daddy. "Okay, Daddy.
Here is my plan. You told me that a boy can love another
boy, and you an Tyler are best friends. You have been
since you were five! So you should get married." Daddy
smile. He pulls me onto his lap. His breath smells of
toothpaste and coffee. "Listen, Peanut. Tyler and I have
decided to get married. We are in love, and I was nervous
about telling you, but it seems you have already accepted
it." I am so happy I cry. I get on my knees and thank God
for making Tyler and Daddy happy. When Tyler comes
over with Cassie, we all hug, one big happy family. We all
cry with joy. We make wedding plans and everyone is
invited! I even get to be the flower girl! Cassie will be the
maid of honor, and Ryan will be the best man!

After the wedding, Daddy A and Daddy T tell us that
they want a big family! We are going to adopt three more
kids! We also get a pet dog, and a goldfish. I am so
happy! It is time to get the new kids! They are all from
Australia, not China like me, or USA like Ryan, or Mexico
like Cassie! Their names are Jason, Brooke and Tessie.
Daddy T tells me it will be a very long plane ride. He also
said that I should it next to Tessie on the way back to
make her feel special. She is only 2 and a half. Jason and
Brooke are twins. They are 4. Brooke and Jason are
always crying though, but Daddy A says it's because they
saw their Mommy die and their Daddy sit in the street. He
could not take care of them. So he left them at the
orphanage. They always cry. I say it will be alright.
