Once upon a time, in an undiscovered
jungle, a big family of monkeys had a baby
called Tommy.
He was an active, curious and little monkey,
always seeking to acquire knowledge and
having fun at the same time.
He enjoyed meeting new animals, of all
different kinds of nature, despite the risk
that could take. That is why his mother,
Sophie, never let him explore and walk
through the jungle alone.

Unlike Sophie, Tommy was self -
confident and knew some secrets of
nature she did not know. But,
¿how could he know something if
Sophie never let him explore?
As all the children in the world,
Tommy did some mischief his
parents weren't conscious of. He
used to escape whenever nobody in
the family was watching him.
Sometimes, his family went to
collect fruits for lunch and he took
advantage, using that time to
achieve the mysteries that nature
hides.

One day, Sophie decided to visit her
friends who lived on the top of the
mountains that surrounded the jungle
and served as a way of protecting their
living. She would take some days to get
there, and returning would take her some
other days.
This was the perfect opportunity to make
all what he wanted and complete his
pending plans. Tommy would be in
charge of his grandfather Morris, but he
was very old and used to falling asleep
very often.That wouldn't be a problem to
our curious friend, so when Sophie left
home a new adventure started.

It was dinner time, and Tommy
ate two bananas and drank some
fresh water. After, came the time
to sleep.
Everything was very calmed and
silenced. He was already in his
bed and Morris came to give him
a big hug and say goodnight.
After the lights were all turned
off, Tommy got out of his bed
and left the cave very quickly,
taking precaution that nobody
was watching him.

Everything was very dark and Tommy
watched his step with a little clarity. Suddenly,
he heard a rare sound coming from the lake.
He was very scared, but wanted to know what
was that. He approached to the water and saw
a big crocodile coming to him.Tommy
screamed out loud and the crocodile got scared
too. Both hid behind the plants and looked
carefully at each other.
They started to come nearer and nearer, losing
the fear for each other. Tommy introduced
himself and the crocodile too, saying his name
was Crocky and that he was a little shy.

Despite their differences, they became
very close friends. Tommy came to the
lake to visit Crocky every time he
could. They played together with the
water, ate bananas and talked about
their favorite things, like their favorite
sports and food.
But this adventure was going to end
soon. Sophie had just arrived from
her trip, when Tommy was having
breakfast. Tommy had to make a hard
decision: telling her mother all the
truth about his adventures or keeping
the secret and forget about Crocky's
friendship.

He decided to tell Sophie all the
truth. She understood all about it
but didn't like the idea that Tommy
lied to her every time he escaped.
Tommy explained how important
Crocky was for him and how much
fun he had when they were
together.
In return, Sophie let him visit his
friend every time he wanted, but
with the condition of first asking for
permission.

Over the years, Tommy became a responsible monkey,
conscious of his actions and about what really matters
in life.
As he said: "Friendship isn't about whom you have
known the longest. It's about having the courage to
sacrifice yourself to preserve it. And telling the truth is
the best decision I have ever made."
