Cuttlefish have three hearts and are one of the
most intelligent marine animals. They have 8 arms
and 2 long tentacles.

it is more aggressive and can live in the desert
climate. The male Dingo is larger than the female
Dingo. They are known to eat, lizards, birds and
even Kangaroos!

(The first is the Ostrich) They only live in Australia
and prefer to stay away from deserts and forests.
These birds like to stay in the country and even
though they don't swim they will if they have to cross
a river because even though they are birds they
cannot fly. Emus live in flocks or pairs and will gather
wherever they find food.

When it is feeling attacked, the lizard opens up a
frill on its neck and hisses at the attacker! These
lizards are only seen in Australia and in the trees
they hide in to keep away from predators.

sharks do not like to hunt people, they
hunt seals and other birds. Great White Sharks
are seen along the coasts of Australia and
have been known to surf waves like
dolpins do.

rivets! The Harbor Bridge is the largest steel bridge
in the world. It took 8 years to be able to finish
building it and 1400 men. Unfortunately about 16
people suffered accidents and passed away while
building it. It cost the city 44 million dollars to build
and took them 50 years to pay off all the money. But
it sits in the city of Sydney and it is a proud Australian
Symbol.

Peafowl is called a Peacock, and the female is called
a Peafowl. They are among the largest birds that
can fly but are not as big as the Emu. It is originally
from Southeast Asia but has been seen around
parts of Western Australia.

most dangerous jellyfish in the world. Normally
jellyfish have their stingers only on the tentacles,
but the Irukandji has stingers all over top and
tentacles. But that is not the only reason why it is
so dangerous. This jellyfish is almost not visible
because of its size and color, so there is no way to
know if you got stung until you feel the pain that
can last for days.

though they resemble monkeys. The female koala
have pouches to carry their babies in just like
kagaroo females. Koalas live in trees and like to eat
the eucalyptus leaves off these trees. They are seen
mostly around the forests in Eastern Australia.

endangered. That is, their population declines
frequently due to lack of habitat. These small bushy
tailed marsupials need their habitat not only for
a place to sleep but also place to eat. They are known
to lick sap and off trees and a liquid called, "honeydew"
off of its leaves.

that has five international standard sporting facilities.
it is also known for their technological advances. It was
the first city in the world to have traffic lights! They have
many beautiful architectural bridges and buildings, like
the Eureka, that is the second tallest residential building
in the world. Melbourne is considered a beautiful place
to live and also peaceful.

that lives in Western Australia. It is also known as the
banded anteater, its diet consists of termites! Unfortunately
the Numbat population is also being controlled by
conservation parks because they are endangered.
This is due to lack of habitat. But they are considered the
emblem of Western Australia so taking care of this species
is very important to everyone.

to see in Australia. The ground-breaking was in 1959, with
10,000 workers prepared to take on the big project. All the
materials to make it came from other countries, like Sweden
and France. There are 15,000 lightbulbs that have to be
changed every year, 1,000 rooms, and it can house 2 million
people at every concert. Even the queen Elizabeth has been
a guest four times at the Sydney Opera house!

in one. And if that doesn't make the platypus weird, it is
also a venomous animal. It lays eggs like a duck and swims
like a beaver. They eat shrimp, worms and other insects.
They are found in rivers in Eastern Australia. The platypus
is now a protected animal in Australia.

(Great Barrier Reef)QqThe Great Barrier Reef is the largest reef system in the world!
It is so big it can be seen from outer space. It is home to
some of the world's strangest sea creatures. Animals from
all over the world visit it, incluiding 30 types of dolphins,
whales, and porpoises. More than 1,500 types of fish! The
Great Barrier Reef is a natural wonder and it sits in
Queensland, Australia since over 20 million years ago.
