Once upon a time, there lived a little boy named 

Jeremiah, who had PKU. He lived in a small village 

in the mid-east known as Sunbrock...

Twas the eve of Christmas in Sunbrock,

and the kids wanted stuff that was new,

But all Jeremiah wished for was a new liver

so he no longer had PKU.

The kids laughed at Jeremiah,

yes, indeed they would tease,

They called him mean things,

like the kid with Folling Disease.

"You think you're smart Jeremiah?

Challenge us, we fight in herds!

PKU makes your head so small,

it's the size of one humming bird!"

But, Jeremiah was smart enough

to not respond in anger,

and he certainly remembered

to never talk to strangers.

Instead, Jeremiah walked away,

feeling sad but not dismay.

At the park, the bullies would not let him stay,

but he had a feeling, it would get better

some how... some day.

After eating his veggies and his fruits,

he made a wish to Santa

that no longer will he need foods with roots

or drinks that have their own Fanta.

Then, somewhere in the night,

Santa made his appearance.

He came to make things right,

for Jeremiah and his parents.

"With a Hey! And a Ho! And a fiddle-dee-do!

I give you a new liver to cure this PKU!

I now give coal to all those who were mean,

and give you the ability to break down 

Phenylalanine!

The very next day, the kids awoke,

expecting presents under the tree,

but, instead of finding treats and things that 

make your teeth dull,

all they found was a bag of coal.
